  1. 20 of that 30 was on Keane and most supporters were over the moon about signing him - its very unfortunate that he just couldnt do the business.

    Insua

Aurelio is our best defending left back, Dossena is our best attacking left back and Insua will do a good job if the other two are unavailable
  3. Tony Evans said the exact same thing about Stevie rallying the troops in the programme 'Istanbul, The Fans' Story' on Liverpool FCTV - cant remember exactly but I dont think the other two agreed with him (one of them was Brian Reade)
  4. Did it at Man City this season 2 - 0 down but 3-2 up at the end was sheer torture - didnt mutter a word when we scored and applauded politely when they did. Awful, awful, awful but I'll probably do it again next season (might not be so easy to get tickets for City next season I suppose depending on who they sign)
  5. Several injuries didnt help his cause though
  6. That could be where we're up to at the end of the season
  7. I'm not normally bothered by pundit bile, but Sherwood was beyond a joke yesterday

    Keane

If Torres needs to miss a game maybe it should be Babel time - remember when ES said he'd been awesome up front in training, perhaps he needs to step up

    Keane

why bother when yoy dont know the facts?

    Keane

I actually think there were 3 reasons why Keane was sold during this window. Firstly money - there is no doubt we would have lost a lot more on him in the summer. Secondly I think he was becoming a negative influence around the dressing room (not a happy bench warmer) Thirdly Rafa realised he didnt offer him the options he was looking for
  11. It will mainly be Gerrard/Torres up front from now on. If Rafa wants to go 4 4 2 for any reason Kuyt is a better option alongside Torres than Keane was anyway. If Torres needs a rest or is injured we have limited options but Kuyt has demonstrated that he is better as a loan striker than Keane ever was. Not an ideal situation I know but Robbie did not improve our options that much. I also think he wasnt a willing sub (much like Crouch) and perhaps expressed a desire to leave because of it.
  12. Agreed, I think Rafa only ever saw Keane as a plan B - an acceptable notion if we had got him for £10-£12m. It became more of an issue once the price rose to £20m with the media going into overdrive at the merest sniff of a substitution or a benching.
  13. That's is just a stupid decision by Rafa - especially for an injury prone Degen
  14. The point is that we had to make an apology and a charity donation to Spurs for allegedly doing the same thing
  15. To be fair Houghton doesnt really believe a word of what he's saying - it's just his turn to have been designated the good cop in opposition to Durham's bad cop for this particular show.
  16. Aye me too, Hopefully when the Champions League starts again it'll become easier- 2 games a week doesnt give you time to reflect
  17. our form has nothing to do with the rant
  18. Despite his wayward opinions, I think Collymore is quite intelligent (might even be able to spell illiterate too!!!)

Everton did what they had to do and I have no problem with it at all. Bit miffed with the tabloids though - theyre all saying Rafa 'slams' or 'raps' negative Everton tactics when all he does is state the obvious calmly with no 'slamming' or 'rapping' in sight

Yes I agree but I think we played better today because we upped the tempo a notch. Our overall inability to break teams down, however, isnt helped by the likes of Kuyt and Riera/Babel not playing to their full potential at the moment. (I wonder if Hammill might be worth a punt at some point?)

    Dossena

if we're going to give Torres the benefit of the doubt for being rusty when he misses a sitter, its only fair we offer the same luxury to Dossena with his crossing since he hasnt played for several weeks.
  23. I dont think we ever had a realistic chance of getting Villa, he definately wants to stay in Spain. Simao though would have been particulalrly nice (although in fairness it could also easily have been Malouda)
  24. 1. Gerrard 2. Alonso 3. Dossena

Ngog would've be better in todays 4 2 3 1 if Rafa had've needed to subTorres for some reason.
