...and we 'only' had a debt of around 25% of what we have now. I had managed to not think of G&H for much of the summer. Starting thinking about them again last week when it was obvious just how much we are scrapping around for funds. It made me feel physically sick. God help us if they do eventually sack Rafa.

I can see the sense in Barry, but Downing is a bit baffling (although it releases Babel from a position he looks uncomfortable in) -
I always knew Parry's latent business acumen would eventually come to the fore

I certainly hope not, Rafa is the only one amongst the hierarchy that I trust. If he goes I can honestly see us dropping out of the top 4.

Sorry that doesnt tally with the conversations I've had with 3 seperate Bolton season ticket holders who have all said they are desperate to sign him. We all agreed £2.5 to £3m was fair (of course they preferred 2 and I preferred 3)

We cant sell Alonso without buying a replacement,- dont forget Masch and Lucas will probably both miss the start of the season because of the Olympics.

These supporters clearly want to keep a player that has given them 10 years of good and loyal service. I hope Gareth Barry comes to us but at the same time I can't bring myself to gloat about it.

Aye me too, I'll feel even more sad when he inevitably excels in Italy, but its for the best all round I think

He was easily our best attacking player in the second half of last season - this year he has had to come back from a serious injury. Dont know about his questionable attitude, it hasnt reared its head since he's been with us (save for one or two yellows and a red)
