I dont see how Dave Usher can say with any certainty that players wouldn't follow Rafa out of the door, irrespective of his sources. How many of us actually know what we'd do in certain situations until the event actually happens? Players' decisions will ultimately rest on things like the identity of the new manager and the intent shown by the board in subsequent transfer windows.

Well I for one thought it was a big mistake when we signed Torres and there were loads more (ginsoak included) who werent convinced

The reason why Liverpool and the other 'big 3' are dropping points which we shouldnt is because the rest of the league have learnt how to play against us. Most teams are now quite adept at parking the bus and have spent chunks of the extra TV revenue on attacking players who are more able to nick a goal on the break. It will be even harder next season as more and more teams decide to park that bus even when they're at home.

Talking 'fact' the worst case scenario would have been 5 less points than we have now and being third behind Aston Villa and Chelsea and just 3 points ahead of United with them having 3 games in hand. I know today is frustrating (and I wish we had gone for it with both Keane and Torres up front) but an away point is not such a bad result even if it was 'only' Stoke.

Credit where it's due, Stoke played us really well today and earned their point. That said it was pretty obvious after 20 minutes that the front two weren't getting much service and the subs Rafa made failed to change the basic (ineffective) shape of the team. In hindsight taking Lucas off with Gerrard dropping back into midfield and Keane and Torres both up top was definately worth a go, even if only for the last 15 minutes of the game.

But Stevie's top level is higher than Xabi's - plucking levels out of the air ( ) I'd agree with your assessment that Stevie has reached his top level 25% of the time, but he has also reached a 'good' level 50% of the time - We probably differ because I think Stevies 'good' level is at least equal to Xabi's top level

Xabi has been great but Stevie has been better overall
