One of the things that concerns me is the lack of any youngsters coming through. In Klopp's era, there were always youngsters put in the team from time to time and they and the team benefited from that long term. Currently, this has not been a factor and we're relying on an ever decreasing number of players that get picked. There doesn't appear to be any emphasis on the development of players throughout the first team and as this Summer shows, our only alternative is to buy expensive fully-developed players So far this season, only Rio has been given a chance , but in recent weeks that's dried up.
