  1. There is denying his goalscoring ability
  2. They know no other way
  3. So you don't rate our keeper Agree. That Gerrard had a quiet game today won't end this bandwagon, but there's nothing 'theoretically' wrong with the partnership that an actual run of games wouldn't fix, it's hardly the England situation
  4. The moment he hit that I knew it was in, it was that clinical, you just knew their keeper was beaten, mis hit my a***. It was a poor game, they were better than us in the 1st half, but were never much of a threat.
  5. To be honest, Brazil and Argentina aside, you could make a similar argument for practically any nation around, including Italy, Spain, and England, not the quality of the league, but the actual number of top quality players of a single nationality. It's only really the two South American giants who produce more than a national squad of top quality players continually
  6. Gallas and Pires spring to mind, and I'm sure there are others, both French and otherwise who've been bought from French clubs
  7. Good player is a good player, completely depends on how they are scouted, coached and used, not where they come from, or whether they are based in North London or Liverpool
  8. ironic genius
  9. If he was fit enough, and his teammates always showed for the ball, so he wouldn't have to do to much with it, maybe?
  10. Reffed by numbers
  11. Aye, I struggle to remember any lampard dream balls
  12. It looked like we'd scouted west brom pretty well, as that was a specific tactic, pushing Cisse right up on the left sided man. Incidentally, Arsenal did exactly the same to Villa
  13. For their ambition in the football they keep playing, and trying to play, I'd be pleased for them, but Wenger annoyed me last year, trying to belittle the value of the Champions league, what's he saying now?

    Take over

And you'd underwrite the issue Steve?
  15. Aye, but would he be happy not starting every game
  16. Something to do with scoring goals?
  17. That's what they said about Arsenal for years GILF

    cisse

Depends how much he wants to get paid versus how much he wants to play week in week out at centre forward.
  19. The mans too good to be true
  20. Darren Bent?
  21. Come on! Come on!
  22. Ameobi scored from open play
  23. Is actually true, and all right thought leads that way. Football is only as strong as it is because of the number of proper teams, playing in so many countries, and the strengthof local support. It could never be about 18/24 teams at the top of the pile, and maintain global interest. That said, that's not what this is about, or the G14 is about, it's about some very delicate business models that have huge commitments, not matched by guaruntees, looking for more certainties.
  24. Aye 3-4-3, Newcastle had no idea how to deal with it.
  25. I'm not convinced Chelsea's list is the best place to start looking for recruits, many decent but grossly over-priced players. There's is in having so many of these that there is a uniform standard, whomever plays. I've seen Bent at the Valley twice this year, outside of games for us. His movement is good, his work rate is truly outstanding for a player of his pace, he has two good feet, with good close control, and his eye for goal is fantastic. He's a very talented boy, who is going places, the only thing he lacks is experience, and the experience of playing with and around a team with several top players.
