  1. But Nicky Tanner can stay where he is.
  2. Gerrard stamping on Herrera was a reaction to Herrera having gone right through Him. Everybody in the ground by me was cheering the red card initially, assuming it was for the Herrera challenge. Herrera is a little s***.
  3. Surely, surely, surely the only explanation that makes sense for our apparent lack of interest in any other centre half on the entire planet is that we expect to get VVD?
  4. I said that to my mate. He's going to score a few Dirk Kuyt-type goals from about a foot out, I reckon.
  5. We didn't want to sell Torres at all, did we? Kenny has always said that he wanted to pair him with Suarez.
  6. Anybody go to/follow the SOS meeting in Town today? Interesting meeting, well handled by Jay McKenna. Very good input by the Celtic lad re their experiences with safe standing.
  7. A bit of me agrees that it might be time for him to move on - as much for his sake as anything else - but another bit remembers how he completely dominated Harry Kane at Anfield last season.
  8. Is this one of those cryptic clues that tell you the whereabouts of recently stashed replicas of Anglo-Saxon jewellery?
  9. It's the calm before the calm...
  10. On the basis that we're looking to shift on Moreno/Markovic and Sakho as a minimum, that will bring in a few bob. If we were happy to pay £50m, as reported, then we should at least have the conversation with Leipzig. As others have commented, we are shopping in a different market this summer - I.e. The players we want, that would make a real difference to us, are fewer and further between than in previous summers, with much bigger clubs also after them. Which has knock ons for the purchase price.
  11. "But few of us - even 5y ago - thought we'd see this day" Absolutely true.
  12. True, but I think that it's also fair to say that the most influential members within the families that Liverpool listen to are against it? Also I think that it is not so much that their wishes will be taken into account, as I can't see Liverpool proceeding with anything down this path without their specific endorsement?
  13. Nor me. But while Margaret Aspinall and Trevor Hicks are against it, I can't see the Club implementing anything, even if they were free to choose to do so. I've always thought that the argument against standing was flawed and effectively let SYP off the hook.
  14. Kylian Mbappé & Zinedine Zidane met in secret last week, according to L'Équipe.
  15. That Spanish bastion of journalistic integrity Marca claims that we've bid €100m for Mbappe: "Jurgen Klopp wants Kylian Mbappe at Liverpool at all costs, but their second offer to achieve what could be the signing of the summer - a mammoth 100m euros - has been rejected by Monaco. Dmitri Rybolovlev, owner of the Ligue 1 team, doen't seem to have much intention of selling his striker and in any event, has always maintained that the starting price will go beyond the 114m euros that Manchester United paid for Paul Pogba last summer"
  16. This kid Coutinho, who is as good as other players worth £32-40 million, apparently. Let's hope that Moore doesn't set our outgoing transfer fees then.
  17. Annoyed that a section of our own fans are so stupid as to get one of our own players booked? Yes. Mate, "Do you actually go to the game much/ever?". f*** right off with that one. Yes. I have been once or twice. As a ST holder since 1987 I must have been, I suppose. And years on the Kop before getting a ST. So, yes, once or twice. And people do not just react instinctively - Christ, Souness would not have lasted 5 mins with that reaction from our own fans. But it never happened - as far as I can recall anyway. Indicative of the dumbing down of our crowd. Ok. Others see it differently. We move on.
  18. Because there is no difference whatsoever between our fans doing it against the opposition and against our own team, is there? My point was that the reaction of a number of our fans may well have influenced the ref to book one of our own players - hugely different from reacting to an opposition foul? I was maybe expecting posts along the lines of "I never heard that" or "How do you know that it influenced the Ref" - but actually nobody has said that - instead two posts seemingly defending the right of the fans to do so. In which case we just have hugely differing views on what support means.
  19. It would help if a significant section of our crowd didn't make a noise - that inhaling, wincey "ooh" noise - that leads a Ref to book our own player, I would have thought. So, actually, on reflection - yes - shh would be better than getting our own player booked.
  20. Absolutely right, Maldini. Dug themselves a pit of bitterness towards him so deep that they can't get out of it. Remember him being booed on - not by all, obviously, but by a significant amount - when coming on as a sub at Anfield when we played West Ham at home under Rafa? Ridiculous behaviour.
