  1. I used to want us to sign Rivaldo... never happened though and it's good because he kind of disappeared on the club level after he left Barca, and shortly after that he was dropped from the Brasil team. now I want us to sign Andrés Guardado from Atlas in Mexico, He could play the Left or the attacking-midfield role, but it's most likely never going to happen, players don't seem to leave Mexico like they do Brasil, Argentina and the other Central/South American countries. He's playing for Mexico in the Copa America if you want to see him.
  2. No worries about that, I knew you weren't having a go at me personally, but I don't understand what we as supporters or Liverpool as a club can do to stop it from happening. The police on hand at the venue can't stop it and they're armed and have the authority that we as general supporters don't have. Sure we can denounce it, as can the club, but if they've shown such a disregard for the rules in the first place I'm sure that won't stop them either. I wasn't so much trying to say we should ignore the problem, as I meant to say that the actions of a few of our supporters shouldn't cause anyone who loves the club to stop supporting the club all together. The thing is that, in this particular case, UEFA could've easily reduced the problem with a larger ticket allocation to both clubs, and with better match-day organisation. As someone said earlier, it was common knowledge that there would be 40,000 or so Liverpool fans in the stadium one way or another on the night, and little was done to try to stop that from happening. UEFA basically pointed the finger at us rather than admit they could've done better by allocating more tickets and stepping up security. Many who went from this board have said their tickets weren't checked once for authenticity, which is something that should be done when it is known there are at least 5,000 fake tickets making the rounds outside the stadium.
  3. Never thought of it quite like that thanks for the positive spin but they still beat us. IF we had started well and IF gerrard would've scored his chance when he tried to pass it into the net instead of blast it on wednesday, we might be saying 19-6 instead 18-5, but thats football innit? Of course next year I'm thinking we're the ones celebrating and they're all saying the IF thing...
  4. I agree that this club has its fair share of crap supporters whether they just be bad at supporting or bad people in general but don't they all? Its not exactly something that can be controlled by us, or apparently anyone else for that matter, I know if I'd have somehow gotten hold of a proper ticket over here and didn't get in because of some c*nt with a fake one I'd be livid but again it would be out of my control at that point. The real problem comes from UEFA not allocating enough tickets in the first place. The two clubs actually in the final got only a little more combined than the neutrals of UEFA did in whole. To me its a case of the few ruining the reputation of the many and unfortunately the people who do things the legitimate way often come in second in these cases don't they? As far as the drugs and alcohol conversation goes, coke to this point in my life has never interested me and hopefully it never will. Drinking on the other hand has never done much for me in terms of making me act a c*nt other than ONE night where I consumed almost a whole bottle of Jack Daniels with a little rum on the side. I haven't really touched another bottle of whiskey since then and don't plan on it anytime soon.
  5. Nevermind that although I supposed I should have clarified that I meant in Europe. Domestically they beat us by miles as you said, however I think next year will be a different story.
  6. While I agree with the whole "Thank F*CK we didn't LOSE to the mancs in athens" crowd. I don't think we would have lost to them, on the contrary I think we'd have really done them in big. We're better than they are and as far as english clubs (and all others besides Milan and Madrid for that matter) the CL is OUR competition to lose and not theirs to win.
  7. For a player with Stevie's ability it really was a crap shot. Thats got to be one of the only times I've ever seen Stevie try to guide the ball into the net instead of blast it through the keeper. Bit of a Riise move too to not try it with his left as it was the better angle no one's blaming him or any of the team for the loss but he really could have done better as we've seen him do it before and thats why people are bringing it up. As far as the shot the TC was talking about I thought it was too good to be true and obviously it was as it was blocked but it's attempts like that which made me mad that the last 15 seconds or so weren't played (not that it's in the rules that all the added time has to be played I don't want to start that argument again.) because with Stevie or even Riise on the pitch you never know when a last second blaster could hit the back of the net.
  8. I need to watch the match again then I guess because so many people on here think Pennant was poor and I just didn't see it. He had no one to cross too, Gerrard was marked up pretty well for the lot of the match, and Kuyt was never in any space when he was actually in the box, and alot of the time he wasn't. Mascherano and Pennant both played great, as did most of the team, but I still feel they were the best players in Red on the night. Could we upgrade on the right over the summer? Yes Is it a really pressing need? No We need a new striker and a consistently fit left midfielder who can do the job more than we need a new right mid. Pennant has shown flashes, and Rafa can work with that.
  9. And who exactly was he going to cross to? There was no one there for him to pick out, hence why he made all those runs. Kuyt was all over the place, and Gerrard was never in a great position to receive a cross either. Zenden I'll agree, was poor in both games, but Pennant played lights out tonight, and he roasted them down the right. I have no problem with you thinking he's not good enough in the long run, but to say he had a poor game tonight is wrong. Him and Mascherano we're our best players, and what other options did we have? Gerrard was needed in the middle (granted it wasn't his best performance either) and when he is played on the right he rarely stays out and crosses, he prefers to cut in the whole time.
  10. F*CKIN RIGHT!!!! COME ON YOU REDS!!! Next Season lets take it all!!! You'll Never Walk Alone
  11. I'm not denying that I'm just saying if he signals 3 minutes, then 3 minutes SHOULD be played. It should be set in the rules FFS but as you said its not, this is true. I'm just gutted, and bothered that this ref let Milan WASTE half of stoppage time with subs and such, then blew the whistle earlier than he signalled he would and when it was in their half of the pitch and in the air to be contested. I could understand if it was at our corner flag or even across in our half but FFS we actually could've done something with the last 20 seconds.
  12. Wow did they come up with that all on their own? Cisse is one of the fastest players in the world, Kuyt was never going to have his pace, but as far as what he brings to the team there's not even a comparison. They're just having a go while they can... F*CK THEM!
  13. The whole point of him signaling for 3 minutes to be put on that f*cking digital board is for the players to know they have AT LEAST that amount of time left in the game. Milan wasted at least half of that with Subs, and then to add to that he blew the whistle before those 3 minutes were up, and when the ball was in the THEIR HALF of the pitch. Gattuso should've been sent off for the foul on Alonso I think it was, and if not then surely for his foul on Kewell when he first came on. I don't care who the first two yellows were to the officiatiing obviously favored them, and to deny that is just plain stupid. Also Mascherano's booking was directly influenced by the Milan players, I've NEVER seen a referee give into players demands that easily, if at all, in my life. Dignity is one thing, but to lose sight of reality just so we can say we lost with dignity is crap. We showed our dignity and class by supporting our team to the end, and by ours supporters in Athens singing louder in defeat, than theirs in celebration. The referee called a poor game, end of. That fat c*nt Rooney scored on them in the last seconds of injury time to win it for the mancs in the 1st leg of the semi, suppose the ref had blown that 20 seconds early, f*ckin 'ell we'd still be hearing about it, its the principle of the matter.
  14. Milan and dodgy refs... Thats an original plotline innit? He was sh*t and honestly I hope he never refs another one of our games again even though i know that won't be the case. For me the linesman we sh*t too, I'm all for losing with dignity, and I'm proud of how we played tonight, i'm just gutted that the ref and his assistants had more to do with us losing than the opposition did.
  15. Can't argue with you about Mascherano he was world class but I still think Pennant was our best player. He gave his all tonight and I honestly do believe he's good enough, He's young and is still developing as a player and I think he's actually one of our best crossers, he just didn't have anyone to pick out tonight, Stevie once or twice, kuyt too but there really wasn't anyone there and it didn't change much when Crouch came on either. I also couldn't agree with you more about Alves, other than him being brasilian I don't understand what everyone's infatuation with him is, granted I haven't seen much of him but what I have seen doesn't impress me. I think Pennant will be our first choice for the right next year as we can't afford to play Gerrard out of position, he's needed more in the middle, but I'm not sure who his partner will be, Alonso has been off for me and even tonight I thought he could have done better. What I've seen from Lucas looks great and hopefully he will be able to adapt to the prem but I honestly can't think of too many brasilians that have settled well in england.
  16. F*ckin' 'Ell man, if you thought Pennant was poor then what did you think of everyone else? He was the best player in a Red Shirt tonight by far, especially in the First half. The problem, as was stated earlier, is that with only Kuyt and Gerrard in attack he had no one to cross too. I would've started Crouch personally but I understand why Rafa didn't as he thought Kuyt offered more to the team and wanted Mascherano on to stop Kaka. Kuyt for me played well everywhere but the box, and Gerrard was off tonight as well. I hope Pennant sticks around for a while and I honestly feel thats the right side sorted. We just need a good goal scoring striker, and someone on the left with pace and ability, a fit Kewell to me, is the best left winger in the prem, but I don't think we can count on him to be fit for a whole season.
  17. It was a weak challenge by Alonso, Kaka took a bit of a dive and it paid off. Not to mention the goal was off Inzaghi's arm. Our boys played their hearts out, it was just their night. I understand the anger but for f*cks sake be proud of our team, we got one back and we showed our class. We're better than them and we showed that tonight, they just caught the breaks and got lucky in the end. You can bet that had we pulled it off again Milan wouldn't have been the same in defeat as we were, they're c*nts especially Gatusso (can't f*ckin stand him) and everyone knows that, the Milan players know they were outclassed tonight, just as we were outclassed two years ago (Save the 6 minutes and Penos). We caught the breaks then, they got them now. In the end though, We're Liverpool FC and no one, not milan, chelsea or the f*ckin mancs, can take that from us. Next season we'll have a go at the League and the CL all it takes is one good summer in training and the transfer market, and we'll be up there.
  18. Send it down to New Orleans and have them put some voodoo on it for you. Just burning is so pain.... but honestly i'm sure you could find some ritual or "spell" on google or something without too much trouble.
  19. I always told myself i'd act like it was nothing, throw up a peace sign or west coast to the supporters, and then proceed back to my position for kick off. Of course i'd prolly go crazy and do something over the top resulting in my suspension for the next few games but it would be worth it.
  20. The way I see it, Kewell when fit, is our best option on the left. If Rafa decides to start him like He did last time we played Milan (granted that was in the middle if i remember correctly), then I'm fine with that. If we want pace, we can't start Zenden, if we want ability we can't start Gonzales (at least not with his last few performances in mind.) and we can't start Aurelio because he's injured so who would you all have on the left? Pennant? To me he's much better on the right, but then he's also much better from the start than as a sub. Gerrard? I don't recall ever seeing him play there, so I can't formulate an opinion but we all know he prefers the middle and if not that then the right. Riise seems to be the only other possibility and honestly I'd be happy with that but then who plays left back, to me Arbeloa looks more comfortable on the right and I can't recall finnan ever being on the left. Still didn't Arbeloa's goal come when he was on the left or am I mistaken? If thats the case then it might be a worth a shot but in the end, it's all up to Rafa innit?
  21. Now that you mention it i'm sure there's a rather fast mexican working at the restraunt down the street, maybe we should just bring him in for a go? If he doesn't make the team he could always help out with pitch care, cooking, and cleaning. (It's all in fun, I'm mexican myself...)
  22. I agree, generally they both play like total s*** especially Le Tallec, but Cisse scores goals, and we need goals to compete with the Mancs, Chelsea, and Arsenal (though I think they'll be crap next year) next season so therefore if for some reason he's the only choice to bring in then I wouldn't mind it. However with all the Eto'o, Henry, Villa etc. threads going around he shouldn't even be considered if we're in the running for one of those three and I don't even rate Villa. Personally I think Eto'o and someone with Pace and Ability (go figure) on the left would put us exactly where we need to be.
  23. It just ended over here 5-4 to Sochaux on Penos, Djibril and ALT both scored their respective ones but the Sochaux keeper was far better than the Marseille one. Commentators said Cisse was missing from most of the game but in the end he did score two goals and his peno which is really all a striker needs to do if the midfield is competent enough which ours is. I'd like to see him back here with our current and possibly improved over summer midfield, that said if we got someone better I'd be happier, and I doubt Rafa wants him again anyway. Edit- Both of Cisse's goals were headers by the way, and the Peno was hit onto the left (keeper's right) post and into the goal for his peno. ALT's goal was also a header, and his peno was just barely put by the Marseille keeper who really should have had it.
  24. While I don't necessarily agree that he's gash, I do agree that he's gone and barring a miracle turn around from Rafa, isn't coming back, and so talking about him doing so is pretty much pointless, and this is coming from someone who actually wants him back, with a modified attitude of course. However, stranger things have happened I suppose....
  25. You guys mean to tell me that there are actual SCOUSE liverpool supporters who DON'T know the words to YNWA? FFS.... I'm American, stuck over here in California, don't have the money or time to fly over there for a game because of school and all and I KNOW the words to that and most of the other songs. These are people who to could go more than one game if they wanted to obviously, they might have to work a little more or give up on their coke fix (F***** HELL) but they could do it, and they don't even take the time to learn who the hell Arbeloa is. I will give them a break for Palleta and Insua, which I shouldn't, but Arbeloa's worked out great since he's been here and there is NO EXCUSE for not knowing who he is, NOT A DAMN ONE. Christ I can't wait till I get out of school and make enough money to go to my first match, and I hope NONE of these types are anywhere near where I am in the ground. and how did they expect Rafa not to rest some of our bigger players before Chelsea on tuesday? Suppose he played Gerrard and he got injured, then what??? Stupid C***S
