  1. I mean I’m not against fixture congestion for city but they played Sunday and then Tuesday when they could easily have played tonight instead to give an extra days rest. This scheduling really is stupid.
  2. It’s far from ideal Alisson picking up these injuries but Kelleher would likely have played v West Ham and as has been mentioned if we can’t beat Bournemouth at home without him then we’ve bigger problems. The injury, which is hopefully minor, seems to have come at a good time.
  3. Perfect for FSG, they can go in with an insulting low ball offer now, say they tried but the player wouldn’t accept terms.
  4. Or in private
  5. Hopefully he won’t be called up for the internationals next week so he can settle in and have some time with slot
  6. Maybe Nunez is leaving and Gakpo will act as cover for jota with chiesa providing cover for Diaz on the left.
  7. Basically if we can rehabilitate him, keep him fit and give him the confidence and game time he needs then he’ll be a good buy. Lot of ifs there but I guess it’s distracting some of the fan base cos it would be a signing at least.
  8. Now we’ve signed marmadashvilli they’ll need a break, been a long drawn out process, poor sods will be knackered, get their feet up ahead of January where they can monitor a few players and sell a few kids.
  9. All of the above!!
  10. But are open to sales or loans for Tyler Morton, Waturo Endo and Stefan Bajectic with the club confident the resurgence of Ryan Gravenberch can make the position his own over the coming season with the likes of Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Aliister and youngster Trey Nyoni can provide adequate cover.
  11. Key words to take from that Pete tweet “considering a bid” “difficult deal” “been on our radar”
  12. You’re leaving today
  13. I came across this post on twitter which may explain some of the decisions being made, caveated with “IF true” of course! So, I’ve always had a strong source academy related and a lot of respect shared with many connected. Recently I asked the question, “Why are the club moving on so much up and coming talent?” The consensus was very much that the overall direction of the academy set-up is on an upward trajectory. The club have been focusing heavily from a younger age and developing stronger than ever. If the club see players at other academies that have the potential to succeed and ability to progress to the first team, they will make all the efforts to bring the youth player in, willing to take ‘calculated’ risks. However, players are breaking through at clubs at a much younger age. Leading to the value and demand of players increasing. Liverpool have a crop of players who are finding themselves at a level of needing senior football earlier because of the structures in place at the academy. The higher talents on the pyramid may be sold but, those sales will include beneficial clauses to Liverpool, incase of a buy-back or large sell-on fee. What was described as “an intention to build a factory of talent” with a “conveyer belt” to first team opportunities. This fundamental factor is shared with potential targets as well as the players stepping up in youth ages. In what I described as brutal and careless at first, understanding the view the club have and the intention for players to succeed leaving the academy, it is more than just a money making exercise or naivety to sell potential options. The club are not selling these players without careful thought, they have serious plans in directing the academy to a better place and creating pathways. It is positive to hear that the club are keen to develop and invest correctly however, it may become common in “three year cycles” that we see players move on, even if the fans believe they may make it.
  14. Well the u21s are getting a bit of a battering without those mentioned. Have hardly touched the ball let alone get out of our half and are 2-0 down after 30 minutes

  16. At least that fee all but covers the marmadashvilli fee so we remain at about 45m in profit!!
  17. We don’t do contract renewals
  18. Half and half scarf!!
  19. I think it’ll be something with little meaning for this season, maybe that Georgian keeper or confirmation of that youth lad from Chelsea so nothing to get overly excited about.
  20. It would be far from a simple deal and probably be massively overpriced so no chance of our lot getting any kind of deal sorted at all let alone within 2 weeks.
  21. It’s the Mandela effect, some people have a clear memory of him being manager, others don’t!
  22. I do find it amusing in an ironic way that we have this sell to buy strategy but are very happy to let players leave on a free (or demand ridiculous fees for players who are never going to play) which then impacts our ability to spend.
  23. And of course the money will be taken out of next year’s budget leaving us short for the inevitable Virgil, Trent and salah replacements.
  24. Probably be 2 years loan then we can let alisson leave on a free.
