IMO Rafa is waiting til the summer when, by Dudek?s own admission he would like to return to Feynoord, we will use him as part of the deal for Kuyt. I think Dudek is getting frustrated cos of it being a World Cup year (not that it excuses some of his comments) and maybe he thought that deals for either Simao or Kuyt this Jan would have seen him move to either Benfica or Feynoord as part of any transfer. Now that Kuyt seems to be staying put til the summer and Benfica signing a keeper those options are dead and he just wants to get some games so that he can be number 1 in time for Poland?s World Cup matches. As for the £3m valuation how often to clubs get what they want (unless Chelsea want the player!!)? I wouldn?t be surprised if we?d accept £1.5m-£2m. I wonder whether it?d be possible to loan him to Feynoord or even sell him to them now and get some sort of pre-contract agreement with them over Kuyt? Here's a piece from The Echo by Bascombe JERZY DUDEK is facing a club fine following an astonishing attack on Rafa Benitez today. Dudek has slammed the Reds for slapping a £3m price tag on him. In fact, Benitez wants £4m for the keeper. The Polish keeper is extensively quoted attacking the Liverpool boss, but Benitez will hold firm in his determination to attract the right price for the stopper. It's clear Dudek's latest quotes - engineered by his representatives - are designed to make his position at the club untenable. Interviews of this kind usually incur a fine of two weeks' wages. Benitez won't be fooled into allowing the Pole to leave on the cheap. Although Pepe Reina is the new number one, the Spanish boss feels Dudek's reputation in Europe is justifiably high and interested clubs should get real about his value. Although Dudek is 32, many top goalkeepers play at the highest level until their late 30s. Benitez wants to change the recent culture at Anfield whereby expensive signings left for less than half their original fee. Dudek was signed in 2001 for £7m. "Jerzy's value increased after his performance in the Champions League final. It's up to other clubs to meet our valuation or we are in no hurry to sell," an Anfield source said today. Dudek wants to leave Liverpool "at whatever cost" and insists he will not play another game for the club. "My time at Liverpool has reached its end. Nothing can change that," Dudek said. "If someone buys me for £3million, Liverpool will have pulled off the transfer deal of the year. I am 33 in March. I have no idea how they came to such an absurd figure. "Even if Benitez wants to play me in a Liverpool match, I don't want to play for this club any more. "I can't see any point talking further with Benitez. It's a waste of time. I have decided to leave Liverpool at whatever cost and I won't change my mind. Benitez just makes the frustration deeper. "I didn't go to play against Luton in the FA Cup last Saturday especially to make it clear to Benitez I am not interested in being the club's second-choice keeper." Benfica have been linked with Dudek recently, but Liverpool have only been approached for loan deals.
