It does make me wonder if he’s being sold this summer given the constant links to Bowen, Raphinha and now Antony who’s at Ajax. All play in the same position and would get very little game time given how many minutes salah plays. Certainly the first two would command fees of probably 60m or so which seems a lot for a back up. I know they could play in another position but we’re stocked on the left with mane and diaz and not sure how effective they’d be through the middle.

And that’s only European sales. My mistake on the 70% does seem high !!

Seems European shirt sales in 2021 were 2.45m. That seems like it should generate quite a bit of revenue if we get 70% of sales.

I think I remember seeing he isn’t represented yet or in between agents so his family have been dealing with things and they were very happy with what we proposed. Think it’s Jorge mendes who’s been trying to become his agent so maybe he’s been in his ear promising him all sorts from clubs abroad if he holds out until the summer?

Think carvalho is more of a number 10 and plays off mitrovic. Also played wide left at times

Let minamino go to Leeds with some sort of pre deal agreed for raphinha and origi go to Atalanta and then gazump spurs for Diaz in this window. Sell Phillips to raise extra funds as well.

Think we’re monitoring just about every player out there aren’t we. It’s actually making the offers and signing players which we don’t seem to do.

Also a few other transfers to happen with martial close to leaving Utd, lingard possibly and city have signed some Argentina striker for 15m but will join in the summer.

Depends how good a season he has and with Henderson and Thiago not getting any younger (or fitter) he could quite easily come back into the midfield in place of them. Just gives him a season of regular football to kick on without being in and out given the other options we may have.

I do think he needs a regular run in the side week in week out to really push on as he has the ability. Depending on who we sign in the summer and who leaves there may be a case for him to go in loan to get that. Maybe Villa given his previous relationship with gerrard.

There are apparently better kids at his age group at the academy. You only have to see the videos of this lad from such a young age that he was going to be high profile.
