In the grand scheme of things we’re haggling over such a small amount. He’s our number one target for DM, stop faffing about and pay what is required. Time is running out and we need him integrating into the squad now.

Basically we’ve got 40m for Fabinho have that and we’ll through in a few add ons that we can pay in slower time.

It’s tricky cos obviously we would like to be patient with lavia and give him time to develop so as an understudy to fabinho this season ready to take over fully next season would have been ideal. However, asking him to be our starting 6 is risky but who is out there that we could get relatively cheaply to allow lavia that time to develop?

If we do end up keeping Fabinho it may not be a bad thing as it means that we can ease in lavia (should he sign) and means we don’t need to get another midfielder and can focus on getting a defender (or 2) in.

I think it’s also that we got a £40m offer for Fabinho which is too good to turn down whereas Henderson seems to have pushed for the move especially given they initially wanted him for free.

I think we’ve still a few leaders in the squad, alisson, virg, robbo, salah, Thiago (if he stays) and I’d say trent will start to get a bigger voice given his seniority rising. In fact he might be a god choice for captain and the one to lead this next phase of klopp’s reign.

His fee plus Fabinho at 40 gives us the lavia/doucoure fee.

I’ve seen that palace would look for a similar fee as the one Southampton are asking for lavia. Based on nothing other than a couple of you tube videos and gut feeling I’d say lavia would be a better option purely on homegrown quota and age alone!!

I think if we’re essentially saying it’s one for one then the last two windows are likely to be as said above plus: Gakpo was for firmino Lavia for milner (& Arthur) Colwill for Williams & Phillips So I don’t think we’d need to sell Thiago but maybe him going frees up a spot for a right back of some sort. We’ve also had carvalho leave on loan too.

That’s pretty impressive we’ve paid this in one go. Most unlike FSG, so what’s the sting in the tail… Be interesting to see what number he takes, thinking it’ll be 8 given his role and love of gerrard.

With Newcastle getting neves on loan you can imagine the scenario now… come January and Newcastle get an injury or need an extra player or 2 to make a push for the title as they’re in the mix …oh here’s benzema and silva on loan for 6 months. Just contribute 20k a week for their wages. No loan fee needed and don’t forget the huge bonus that’ll be paid by the parent club to benzema and silva if they win the league.

Probably after Southgate has shown klopp the way with Trent properly in midfield. After all we’ve got bradley back from loan at right back and Gomes can cover. Morton back from loan too for midfield so plenty of options there
