Of course it’s Adams he has a release clause although no doubt we’ll try and haggle that down or try to include a player to make the fee up.

When it’s not exactly a secret that chelsea have spent all that money on loads of players. Of course the PL are aware of their transfers. This’ll be like waving an imaginary card at a ref. Chances are we’ll get done on some sort of irregularity now although won’t matter a joy given our transfer strategy!

I don’t think we’ll do anything now cos we’ll either be priced out of moves with “players not matching our valuations”, the “right players aren’t available”, there won’t be enough time to get someone else in or it’ll be the“happy with the squad we’ve got given the progression of the youngsters”

Get lavia in now for 50m, buyout clause for the left footed centre back inacio is 40m then with the remaining money plus sale of Phillips do a deal for andre in January. Or test Madrid resolve with 100m for tchoumeni

I guess the overall package for caicedo is less than the Bellingham one or is it the fact we have extra cash after the unexpected Fabinho and Henderson sales.

Well if we get £10m for Thiago and another £10m or so for Phillips then we’re at that sweet spot of roughly £20m net spend.

The irony if we end up with caicedo for twice the price of lavia who ends up going to Chelsea for half of what they were going to pay for caicedo

Seems the alternative (Andre) isn’t available until dec/jan so we’d once again leave ourselves short in a key position and shoehorn players in to make do.

In the grand scheme of things we’re haggling over such a small amount. He’s our number one target for DM, stop faffing about and pay what is required. Time is running out and we need him integrating into the squad now.

Basically we’ve got 40m for Fabinho have that and we’ll through in a few add ons that we can pay in slower time.

It’s tricky cos obviously we would like to be patient with lavia and give him time to develop so as an understudy to fabinho this season ready to take over fully next season would have been ideal. However, asking him to be our starting 6 is risky but who is out there that we could get relatively cheaply to allow lavia that time to develop?

If we do end up keeping Fabinho it may not be a bad thing as it means that we can ease in lavia (should he sign) and means we don’t need to get another midfielder and can focus on getting a defender (or 2) in.

I think it’s also that we got a £40m offer for Fabinho which is too good to turn down whereas Henderson seems to have pushed for the move especially given they initially wanted him for free.

I think we’ve still a few leaders in the squad, alisson, virg, robbo, salah, Thiago (if he stays) and I’d say trent will start to get a bigger voice given his seniority rising. In fact he might be a god choice for captain and the one to lead this next phase of klopp’s reign.

His fee plus Fabinho at 40 gives us the lavia/doucoure fee.
