    Kenny

Agreed, A couple of years ago Gerrard could have walked into any team in the world but he stayed with us...
  3. In a normal situation if nobody wants to buy your item at a price you quote you lower your price. In this situation you have to raise the price as your debt has now gone higer. Scandalous. Its amazing that RBS has let this run so far. If C & A stay in charge their loans will keep rolling over increasing debt and interest payments but surely RBS has to realise that there will come a point where they will NEVER get their money back??
  4. Damn, I thought that was Purslow. Thats what I read on another forum
  5. Nope, a Macia signing.
  6. Do you think any serious business minded investor will even think about this though? Why would an invester pay 75% of the value of the club to buy only 43% of the club?
  7. I feel exactly the same way. The loss against Chelsea didn't hurt the same way it normally does. I wasn't angry. I expected it. I always thought that this was going to be a very tough season and still maintain that it is going to be. I have no expectations, just hope...

  9. Going to have to find someone to take the corner though
  10. are we REALLY though?
  11. posted in the other thread but: This is just rough but: Comparing the same teams we played last year versus this and substituting promoted / relegated teams. this year we are (08 values before 09): 4 points worse off comparively (52 vs 48) 11 worse off on goal difference (33 vs 22) less goals scored (45 vs 37) more goals conceded (12 vs 15)

  13. Diao played against Everton at Woodison in 2004 under Rafa. Xabi replaced him after 80 minutes I think...
  14. Not exactly true. Last season was the only season we scored more points in the last 19 games than the first 19 games (37 - 39) The previous two seasons we scored the same amount of points in both halves of the season (41 in each half & 34 in each half) The first season we actually were better in the first half of the season (31 - 27) On Average we are actulally better in the first half of the season than the second half (35.75 vs 35.25). This actually is not surprising as you have more fixtures in the new year. CL and FA Cup. If we match our best ever performance in the second half of the season and win the next 4 games then we could end up on 87 points. Could be enough this season I hope.
  15. so we help pay H & G's debts. Keep up will ya

    Rotation

I am not sure that we actually do though. If you split the seasons into halves, we generally perform the same in the first half of the season and the second half of the season. Last season was actually the only season that we had more points in the second half of the season than the first and it was actually only two more. The previous two seasons we actually had the same number of points in the first and second halves of the season and in his first season we actally did worse in the 2nd half of the season by 4 points. Of course the CL comes into it but this indicates we aren't actually much better in the second half of the season than the first (In the league).
  17. Isn't it £88m richer?

  19. My opiniion is that he has to be the senior partner. If he isn't the senior partner DIC could veto any dividends payed to Kop Holdings in lieu of interest payments which will mean he will have to put them up himself. God, I hope he just sells up and goes.
  20. Not against Rafa by any means but we need to be objective. Changes are all fine and well but lets build a platform and gradually start rotating players. There is no reason to rest players two or three games into a season. If our squad was stronger in 05/06 then it means we have gone backwards. Rafa has to take a portion of the blame for that. The title winners generally have a platform to launch from. We are normally playing catch up. If our squad players are average and cant be rotated then play the best team. Swapping average for average is not doing anyone any good. Hopefully the "average" players will perform a bit better with an extended run in the side.
  21. Actually in the first run of 10 wins there wasn't much rotation. There were "only" 19 changes in the first run - > 1.9 changes per game. 16 Different starters. 19 Differents subs + starters. We picked up 30 points obviously. Now the next six games were interesting. There were 20 changes (more than the previous TEN games) - > 3.33 changes per game. 19 Different starters. 21 Different subs + starters. We picked up only 5 from a possible 18 points. Rafa even mentioned at one stage during the winning run that he will stop excessive rotation if all the players are fit and available as the settled team seemed to be working but it seemed like he changed his mind The problem IMO is not really rotation as it can be mostly sensible (Ferguson seems to have is sussed) but excessive rotation. 2 to 3 changes a game should help with end of season fitness without disrupting team performance and cohesion. 4 -> 6 changes is madness and more often than not requires a change in formation / system. I also believe it easier for new / young players to settle in a familiar team rather than a different one each time they play. Chelsea used quite a settled team a couple of seasons ago and they were still fighting on all four fronts till the end of the season. Fatigue wasn't too much of a problem for them.
  22. we have LFCTV, MUTV and ChelseaTV for about 3 -4 hours each every day in SA so not sure if that is a rule though. We also get Real MadridTV and BarcaTV for a couple of hours a day.
  23. I travelled from SA to Anfield without tickets two years ago. I tried getting tickets online, at the ground, etc but had no luck. It was fine though as I didn't expect to get tickets anyway. What was dissapointing was the stadium tour that I booked (while I was in South Africa) was cancelled / didn't exist ??? (found out when I was at the ground). I asked if I could go on another tour and was told it was all full. Considering this was the reason I came to the UK you could say I was pretty dissapointed. Managed to get on a tour eventually but I had to travel up from Portsmouth about two weeks later for a tour which was "created". So I eventually got my "moment" at Anfield...
