  1. Think that we're at an interesting cross roads here, if G&H have the power to turn this down I expect it to be done swiftly. The longer this hangs on the more likely, in my head at least, that RBS are actually in control
  2. I agree that history should teach us that not every major change is a good one, remember that the vast majority of fans thought G&H were the way forward. Until Huang's backing, investment plan and finance strategy are publicised in a transparent and honest manner I'll hold back on the dancing in the streets.
  3. Haha, can you imagine how frustrated he is with all this going on and him stuck in the Belgian low lands or wherever the is ?
  4. No idea but it sounds like a business deal, which means no man city nonsense but maybe safety, solidity and the chance to rebuild our club.
  5. I knew I liked the cut of his jib
  6. who does Rory Smith support ?, is he one of us ?

Nice to see it back mate, I assume you solved whatever was the issue by adding the "Not" ?
  9. sounds like Roy and the club readying us for the sale of Masch, saying he's unresponsive etc. will make the fans turn on him more. See this thread for examples. I'm assuming he's off anyway and to be honest if we get to reinvest the dough it makes sense. that's a gargantuan if though. Seems like Purslow has more chance of keeping Torres than Roy, which is scary as. Basically if Torres stays I think it is the greatest indication that we will be bought out soon, if not then Purslow could give no guarantees and we're royally screwed.
  10. Is he quick ?, some more real pace in our attack could work wonders.
  11. Kenyon f**ked them over on Robben. He had a deal all but agreed with the mancs, then kenyon went to chelsea and did the dirty because he knew the details of the mancs deal and just blew it out of the water. I do agree that he doesn't seem to have a penny though, which is nice.
  12. Is he not nailed on to the mancs?, I remember reading he was getting the full treatment. personal letters from ferguson etc. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/manutd/6336697/Manchester-United-step-up-interest-in-Steven-Defour-via-the-post.html
  13. I'm so depressed about the whole thing that the first thing I thought wasn't "sweet he's staying" it was "I wonder is that 'shopped?"
  14. So that's Yossi out as was already agreed before Roy arrived and now we're hearing about Insua and Lucas being already in late discussions which Roy can't change. That's at least 2 first teamers down, even being cognisant of Jovanovic's arrival. What the f*** is going on ?, Cecil is selling the first team with a manager that is actiing dumb and saying its out of his control.
  15. I just said that you can take your own meaning, feel free. I'm not asking you to take any medicine either so chill, all I'm saying is that from my perspective the statement from Broughton should not be counted on. And I don't think I'm doom-mongering either, just trying to express my take on his statements. I'm absolutely not calling him a stooge either, I'm not even specifically having a go at him. My take is that he is a consummate politician and doing as all good politicians do, playing both the audience and the situation to the best of his ability which appears to be considerable as he has quietened huge sections of the press and fans with what amount to open ended statements. As for people like Broughton, I'm speaking of Chairmen, Executives etc. All strong politicians that know what to say and when to say it. One last question though, and I'd like you to answer this. If no baseline has been set how can they agree a reasonable price ?
  16. OK, you can take it all at face value, feel free. I've dealt enough with people like Broughton to spot an empty message, the very fact that he himself is saying "hope rather than expectation" translates to me as "it would be nice but it ain't happening".
  17. I know he didn't say that, it's pretty obvious what he said. What I'm saying is that I think it was a nice sound-bite that he knows is never going to happen, virtually no impact on him if it doesn't as it can be explained away easily.
  18. Exactly, which roughly translated from business schmooze into normal English means there isn't a hope in hell that it will be done by august.
  19. He never said best bid wins by a certain date. It's not a real auction, its a structured bid process. how long it takes is variable on a load of different things.
  20. I don't think he has said anything that can't be backed out of with smooth talking and a reasonable excuse. "Owners cannot block the sale, this is a board decision" Excuse "This offer was considered by the board and rejected as it was not thought to be in LFC's best interest" "We do not need to sell any players." Excuse We did all we could to try to keep our best players but unfortunately they desired to move on. "All transfer funds will be reinvested" Excuse Roy felt that there wasn't the value available in the market. Basically he has been brought in because in his role as "Chairman for Hire" not only does he command massive respect in the sale process but he is an extraordinary politician and its this that we are seeing here. We are being smooth talked into being good little football fans and not causing too much agro while our owners rape us for every penny.
  21. Agree totally, I always thought he was overrated by a lot of lfc fans.
  22. Snake oil and misdirection. I don't get how they can know what a reasonable price is and not have set a baseline price. The two things are paradoxical.
  23. If a sale was imminent or even planned would Roy currently be seeking assurances that he can have all proceeds from player sales to reinvest ?, as the press are reporting. We've been looking for investment/up for sale since these c*nts arrived pretty much and how much has happened ? nothing. I fully expect this to meander on for months and years yet before we get any positive news. I'm starting to see why some people have their heads in the sand over the LFC situation, seems like a more comfortable place to be at the minute than staring down the barrel of mid-table mediocrity and needing a sugar daddy to get us back again.
  24. Its not the permanent status quo but the longer we proceed in this downgrading players and managers direction to suit the basttards that own our club the harder it will be to get back.
