Yeah, I think that would actually improve the standard to international games too. A week training then 3 games would be better than a few days then 2. It would also encourage the international managers to play players 2 out of the 3 games, giving the players a bit of a break and involving the wider squads. Yeah, make them mini tournaments. Cos the context of playoffs makes the Dallas specific and therefore singular. "Dallas have..." would be a better use of language though as it would tell the listener that if they didn't know what a playoff was or what it meant, there is context in which it would make sense and specifically didn't refer to the city as a whole. "Dallas has" is just lazy.

Liverpool FC has issues is because the FC makes it singular. Liverpool has issues could be talking about Liverpool in general and would depend on context. Liverpool (with the FC omitted but talking about the football club) have issues, is more specific and implies that the person you're talking to or is reading knows which "Liverpool" is being referred to as the grammar would be wrong if they didn't. It doesn't work in a general sense so is implicitly specific within context. The yanks don't understand stuff like this.

I don’t get it. If play was restarted with a dropped ball, then normally if it’s not in midfield, it’s not contested and ends up with the keeper. That’s just how it is. the ref doesn’t get to decide who gets the ball.

The referee should only play advantage if no player is seriously injured. https://www.footballrules.com/game-events/advantage/ so not only was there no advantage to us, but the ref shouldn’t have played it. So, he was free to go back and book Caceido.
