I dunno how baseball works, but you would think that FSG have realised that not being successful in football really does mean sponsors and corporate match revenue does drop. On top of that is TV revenue. Nobody talks about or wants to watch teams that they don’t support getting beat in meaningless matches.

Seemed to me like Nunes was agreed, but we didn't want to pay for him in January, so he's been parked at Wolves. Be interesting to see if his performances there have put us off. Part of the problem with managing and recruiting for a top side is that players mostly don't want to leave. I'm sure most people would have been relatively happy for Bobby to go a couple of seasons ago if we got a fee that enabled us to go out and buy a replacement, but with FSG and the way the world has been, that was never gonna happen. Jones is another. He's had a lot of time and energy invested in him and I'm sure as far as coaching team are concerned, he does a job. Improving on him is gonna cost £20m or so and even more time and effort. Is anyone paying that for Jones?
