All very well but finding a Barnes, Dalglish or Rush (or even players anywhere near as effective) isn't exactly easy.

I think you're right in that if the club offered him a rubbish contract he'd consider leaving, but then I don't think people would resent Carra too much for that. I certainly wouldn't - I'd be disappointed with the club. Provided the club want him (and continue to demonstrate that) he'll not leave I don't think. Maybe its because he doesn't have the natural ability of Gerrard - I think he appreciates where he is more.

There's a formula for these things. Somewhere darn sarf, there's a fat journalist working on a foolproof algorithm to decide match ratings. Everyone starts with a 5, lose one for being sent off, another if your name is hard to spell, gain one for not being foreign, one more for having a sensible haircut and celebrity wife etc etc etc The actual game is irrelevant
