His pace does get him to the positions, but more often than not he just blasts it in the stand/at the keeper. Imagine how good it would be if we had a striker who had the pace to make good positions, the intelligence to get in the positions using his brain (not just speed) and the ability to finish those chances off? Sounds like Michael Owen to me that - in fact any number of other strikers. Pace/skill/technique/composure etc are not mutually exclusive attributes . Hopefully we can get someone who has more than 1 of them.

Betcha some of the Sky games are still packaged as prem plus. You'll then have £30/40 a month for sky1 &2 etc, £60 a year for prem plus, and whatever setanta charge. I usually get the full monty with prem plus season ticket. looks like I'll just pay per match beyond the normal sky package from now on. Getting silly this. Sven's a nutter. Always remember reading a book about Shanks, where various players basically said if you were injured you might as well be dead as far as Shanks was concerned. I don't think you've seen enough of him. He doesn't really beat defenders that often with fancy tricks/Djibril like pace. From what I've seen its more about getting a bit of space and getting a cross in. For me, his crosses are Beckham like - he seems to have the ability to curl his foot round the ball. He's stood out as being far too good for that Birmingham team whenever I've seen him, and I think that's where his reputation has come from. I can't imagine Rafa taking his glorious Notts County and Arsenal past into consideration. Good buy in my book, especially if the fee is as small as is being suggested.

He never got a real chance for England cause Shearer was in possession. Don't think he "never cut it". Did well when he played and scored etc but his chances were pretty sporadic. And he's probably not the answer now. Best striker I've seen in the flesh though.

Depends. He's a very talented sprinter and he has an eye for fashion which I suppose is a talent of sorts. He's not a very talented footballer. He's Henri Camara with better PR.
