George Costanza

Over the next 8 months we need to bring in a centreback, left back, left midfielder and a striker/link man as a foil for Torres (more of a creative player than the hard working Kuyt and Voronin) I can see Crouch and Riise being surplus to requirements

We've got the worst left side in the world

he can't be worse than Momo tonight though. Gerrard hasn't been anywhere near his best since England. Maybe he needs a week or two off/rest. Get him back firing on all cylinders because we need it.

completely agree. If you play well you should be picked for the next game. Under Rafa you can be s***e or great and still have as much chance as playing the next game. There's just no reward/motivation. I'm not against a little rotation, as it is necessary over a long season but 3-5 changes a game is overly excessive and IMO Rafa is almost doing it out of spite. Tonight wasn't the first time we looked like a bunch of strnagers who couldn't pass to each other. The ways its going it won't be the last.

yet there above us in the league. Happy days indeed

Don't agree with your views on Mascherano. I think he's a fantastic player and will be every bit as good as Makelele has been over the years (if not even better) However I do agree with this to an extent, but even in a four he shouldn't need to be creative. Win it and give it simple. The front 5 should be good enough to do the rest. Problem we're having is that our creative players (well the few ones we actually have) aren't playing that well either.

yep. Its been a reasonably decent start but its going to get much tougher next month. Another International break to overcome aswell.

there's an irish bar on Wenceslas Square which might show it. There is another irish bar not far from the astronomical clock, just across the square. Both will more than likely show the liverpool game

'world class' is the s***test and most over used term in football. He's bloody good for us, I don't give two s***s about comparing him to other players.

Our stongest midfield for the past 10 months would be Pennant--Alonso--Mascherano--Gerrard. I'd actually like to see that played with Babel and Torres upfront.

agree with that. He's going through the motions at Newcastle. Until he gets a run of 4-6 months injury free none of the 'big four' will touch him.

Not away from home in the Premiership. I'd have much rather todays pedestrian team played in Porto on tuesday and gone all guns blazing today.

gotta respect the glasses. have heard we're trying to steal another player from barca

Apart from against us I havent' seen them but going by reports this seems pretty accurate. The worry is that despite not playing well their picking up points. Obviously it can still go either way, they could continue to struggle and sooner or later they start dropping more points OR and unfortunately the most likely outcome is that they start to play better and start winning more convincingly. African Nation Cup could be interesting and how it may affect them. They're still the team to beat IMO not necessarily becasue they're any better than the others but they seem to always get the rub of the green/bit of luck.

always seems to be Chelsea and United who get the big decisions in their favour. Coincidence?

Howard webb's time to have a week off. Awful reffing in favour of United

He looked the part when he came on as sub against West Ham and Chelsea last season.
