  1. The things the Mancs will do to ensure they have mid-week footy.
  2. I think he is somewhat a victim of his own success. No-one really expected him to play as much as he has. He has put in many excellent performances and prrematurely has received some comparisons to Viera. Therefore a poor performance and people are all over him. His tackling gets a little sloppy at times and he will have to learn not to pick up silly bookings early in the game as it takes away his aggresiveness. If he can do that and as he matures he will become a fixture in the team for many years to come.
  3. What's more concerning to me is that many on here forget the display as long as we win. If we would have lost that game, which we quite easily could have done the board would have been lit up with complaints. As it was many were relieved and had some good points to make. Differing opinions make this forum what it is.
  4. I would bring him back as a squad player. He's still a better finisher than anyone we currently have on the books. We could use him as a "Super Sub". He wouldn't cost anything and money wouldn't be a concern. A good couple of years in a Gary Mac type role would be great to end his career.
  5. I bet your missus is happy.
  6. I would also add 6. Crouch played his worst game for us to date He didn't want to know. I hope him finding his scoring boots doesn't stop him from putting the typ of work in he did prior to his first goal.
  7. To be honest Cisse has had many games against opposition whre you expect him to have a field day and he hasn't. His control and reading of the line just isn't good enough at the moment.
  8. Now that was like watching a game on LSD. From schite to sublime and back several times. One to forget and be glad we won. Now lets get back to that stingy defence. Kudos to Gerrard, FSP and Xabi for their goals and overall displays. Too many lethargic perfromances allround
  9. It's his new party peice.
  10. Personally I want us to be like the Liverpool of old and be challenging for everything. I think it is a real shame these days that clubs chose to play sub par teams in the Cup competitions. Obviously the CL and finishing higher in the league is the main priority this season. However, the FA Cup gives the fans some great memories and a chance to go to another final.
  11. Why on Earth would Burton not want to play at OT. They could make more money in one game than they would in 10 years.
  12. He makes a lot of critical mistakes and seems to have lapses of concentration. I am not sure if it is because he is playing at Boro or not. Would rather keep the Dude than Schwarzer
  13. On a Bosman?
  14. His dad is an old mate of mine as is his Uncle Dave, who played at Everton for a while. Alvin is from Bootle and played for WHU for20 years playing well over 600 games. Alvin's mum Mum and Dad live in Lydiate, so he will have family on Merseyside at least. He has played at all levels from England and has valuable league expereince at MK. He is a very good young keeper.
  15. They need to fecking sack Shepherd while they are at it. Here is a club that gets 50,000 fans every game and yet continues to be more interested in Alan Shearer breaking goal scoring records than anything else. They have had a joke of a defence in years, saved only by Shay Given's miraculous perfromances. Yet they continuouisly throw silly money on poorer defenders, attackers who can't score and midfielders who can't defend. How long will they allow the clown to run the Circus.
  16. We will give them a lesson in Class. May as well take the whole 12 points on offer this holiday period.
  17. My sentiments exactly. He hasn't cost us anything and we get rid of Josemi in the process. That alone is worth the deal.
  18. The Lord of Frodsham isn't going anywhere. He will start scoring goals and Rafa will give him more opportunities. He just has to realize he was bought by the previous coach and that Rafa's style of play is different. The commentator the other night said we could still play something like 38 more games this season, so he will get plenty of chances. Rafa will remeber last season when all our forwards were injured and won't let anyone go, unless he has a certain replacement.
  19. Let's hope Rafa doesn't do a Pelle with him and play him more than we expected.
  20. It seems to me from listening to some talks shows and reading some recent match reviews that the media is finally starting to see us as a force in British football again. Even our CL win left them doubting us but this recent run has had many hailing us as the onl;y real challenger to Chelsea in the years to come. Even on Talks**** today they seem to think Rafa has done more as a manager in English football to date. Most of the call-ins seem to support the belief that Rafa has done more with the resources he had.
  21. As opposed to
  22. I was reading the other day that in his last two seasons at Porto Queenie never lost a league game. Considering he won the UEFA Cup the CL and practically every Cup in Portugal he has had a phenomenal 4 seasons.
  23. In the first few minutes Stevie made a great effort to let Neville know he was there. He also seemed to give him an extra little prod as he got up too. The Gormless looking fecker didn't know what hit him. Well in Stevie Lad.
  24. He's a better more mature version than the 20 year old Leeds player. He tracks back, he doesn't waste passes, including those back to his defenders. He is a very sensible player on the ball and doesn't need to play as an out and out winger. A little more pace and a few goals and everyone will be raving about Harry again.
  25. I don't see any reason why we should sell any of our players. Cisse has said he is going nowhere and Rafa wants him, so why would he leave? We now have 4 strikers in Moro, Crouchy, Djibs and Flo-Po who are all healthy, CL eligible and as Rafa said give us many options. As long as they all know their worth to the club and the fact they won't play in every game, they will do nicely. To bring someone in now and disrupt this group wouldn't be wise. I think we should go with what we have got and if we need to bring another striker in do it in the summer.
