  2. So the new top is available to buy in the States before it is in Liverpool. Bizarre.
  3. Nunez was a decent player, he doesnt deserve to be in there. What about Leonhardsen instead? Ferri?
  4. Smell of food around the ground and on the streets outside Queues for the chippy Roads jammed "Red All Over The Land, Liverpool Fanzine!" The old fella trying to flog the Kop Magazine and Echo and failing at every game! The horse**** all over the floor. Cold, wet nights. Getting into the ground. Seeing the pitch for the first time. The glow of the pitch. Seeing all the old faces near your seat(s). A Liverpool win (hopefully tomorrow) The mad scramble trying to get out of the ground at full time. I love it all. You can't beat Anfield and proper football. Bring on tomorrow, I cannot wait.
  5. It sounds like Rafa really respects McClaren and they get on very well... Called him a friend too, Rafa is going all mushy.
  6. Good luck Djimi, thanks for the effort.
  7. BBC : Robson taken ill at Ipswich match Former England manager Sir Bobby Robson was taken to hospital after falling ill 10 minutes into a game at his former club Ipswich Town on Saturday. The 73-year-old became Ipswich's honorary club president this summer and was paraded in front of the supporters at Portman Road before the match. But then he complained of feeling unwell and, after seeing the club doctor, was sent to Ipswich hospital. In May Robson had a cancerous tumour removed from his lung. The tumour, which the hospital said was bigger than a golf ball, was only spotted when he had an X-ray following a skiing accident. That was the third time he has had a cancer scare - having beaten the illness twice before, in 1992 and 1995. No details have been released about Robson's current state of health. He was accompanied to the hospital by Dr Hugh Davies, his cancer specialist, although he had been Robson's guest at the match. A statement released by Ipswich Town: "He was attended by the club doctor and, as a precaution, was transferred to Ipswich hospital. "The club has no further comment to make."
  8. Top of the front page of the Echo today says : Horrific, dire, surreal ... (followed by a massive picture of Bascombe) The Editor clearly is having a bit of fun there Stevie says we'll be much better on Wednesday. Training has taken it's toll, he said they've been doing weight training before the games. Finnan, Robbie and Gonzalez should all be available for Wednesday night Bascombe says.
  9. Fat Frank Lampard. Can't believe it's taken the 43rd reply for his name to appear. I hate him. I hate his goal celebration. I hate everything.
  10. Christian Bolanos.

    Squad on tour?

    I like it.
  12. No Diao for Charlton in the friendly tonight. They got beat 3-2 by Hibs.
  13. I was stuck in Istanbul Airport!
  14. I watched the press conference on SSN live today. It was so funny when the Sky reporter was saying to Freddie "how did you get him for just £5million? You'll have many Premiership chairmen ringing you to ask you how you got such a good deal." Freddie was loving it, thinking he actually got a good deal for once - even though they'll be paying him near £100k a week! Duff didn't seem to like the attention at all in the press conference and with the fans outside. So he didn't like it in London, and now he's living in what was once called a 'goldfish bowl' by Jermaine Jenas, good thinking lad!

  16. Tyler: Mellor, love cushioned header forrrrrr GERARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRDDDDD! Gray: OOOHHHHHHHH YAAAAAA BEAUTY, WHAT A HIT SON, WHAT. A. HIT. Tyler: Well you take a tap in in these circumstances and what you have seen is a Champions League strike as good as anything the competition has produced in this and many a season. Gray: Well you don't need me to explain it, just watch this! Let the pictures tell you everything. This is special. Have a look boys. Tyler: He didn't want to wake up tomorrow in the UEFA Cup. He was saying that yesterday. With one swing of his gifted right foot, STEVEN GERRARD SAYS CHAMPIONS LEAGUE KNOCKOUT STAGE HERE WE COME! (followed by pictures of the steward hugging Rafa) I was there that night and it was bloody amazing and just watching over this video again, this time on YouTube, makes you realise how brilliant a piece of commentary it was from Tyler and Gray and they really did this great game justice. Tyler's last few words are top class. What a match. Video

  22. I saw Zidane at Anfield, in Euro 96, when the French played Holland, good game.
  23. No wonder Stevie always has to play the deeper role of the two central mid's - Lampard just cannot defend/tackle. He has it too easy at Chelsea with Essien/Makelele/Terry right behind him. He has been shown up BIG TIME at the World Cup.
  24. Welcome to the club Malcolm.
  25. He said the same thing about Liverpool like it was his in his blood to play for Liverpool, it was his destiny.
