No, but they were trying to construct a building in space! Where you can only do so much work at a time before you need to have another shuttle launch (which were delayed following Columbia) to bring up the next bit, and the workforce changes every couple of months. Yep I agree, there was to much weight on the pass. To be fair with the state of the pitch judging those careful passes must have been difficult, but it was overhit none the less.

The entire Barca team at Anfield for that 3-1 game. Ronaldo (proper one) against United at Old Trafford, scored a hattrick. Bergkamp against Leicester, scored a hattrick. Bergkamp in, I think it was France 98, or Euro 2000, for Holland scored a phenomenal goal in one game and just look head and shoulders above everyone else on the pitch. Henry (take your pick)

Morientes' partnership with Crouc his a huge reason behind our unbeaten run (I refuse to acknowledge the United game ever happened. Same with the Chelsea game). The pair of them together just destroyed defenses and allowed our midfielders to get in and score the goals. Lets remember, Morientes beat Middlesborough with his goals, Newcastle's defense absolutely couldn't deal with his close control and lay offs, Wigan were much the same. Before the Merseyside Derby, Morientes was looking every inch the classy composed striker I knew we'd bought, and the partnership with Crouch was not one of rampant pace, or goals from no where, it was one built upon guile, speed of thought and technique, and we reaped the benefits of it. Morientes is an absolute class act, and I'm still made up that we bought him. Crouch, Morientes and Fowler I think has the potential to be absolutely devestating. I don't care who scores our goals, as long as they go in, and Morientes brings an extra dimension to our front line that we have sorely lacked in recent years. He is a wonderful link between out midfield and strikers, and I don't know of many other players we could have who are capapble of just opening up play on the edge of the box in 3 touches. Morientes can, and does do that.

It's hardly a surprise. Even before the NOTW sting, everyone knew he would be leaving after the World Cup.
