Ha, their trying to copy Rick Parry's phone techniques ! Liverpool May Sell 40% Stake to Rhone Group, News of World Says Share Business ExchangeTwitterFacebook| Email | Print | A A A By Grant Smith March 14 (Bloomberg) -- Liverpool Football Club may sell a 40 percent stake for 100 million pounds ($152 million) to the Rhone Group, a New York-based buyout firm, the U.K.’s News of the World said, without saying where it got the information. The Premier League soccer club would use the investment to repay debt to Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc and begin work on a new 350 million-pound stadium, the newspaper said. Club spokesman Ian Cotton didn’t immediately answer a telephone call seeking comment. Jonathon Brill, an England-based spokesman for Tom Hicks and George Gillett, Liverpool’s U.S. owners, didn’t immediately return a phone call seeking comment.

Were s***, thats all i've heard all night whilst working away in 'that there' London, and i have to agree - were s*** because were negative and without urgency, and this f***ing formation without Torres is stupid beyond belief especially when Ngog is given the position, we have Kuyt and Babel who can play up top why not go with two up to compensate for the lack of brilliance which is Torres it doesn''t make sense. Pissed off with it all but will always fight our corner , have we ever been in a more precarious situation in our history given the ownership situation ? I'll tell you what, premier league, european champions or fvcking non-league mediocrity i'll love and support this club till i die along with the rest of us,what goes around comes around. Bring on Man City - can't believe it's come to this

*Bump* Any chance of stickying this for a week or two to see if some kind soul wishes to support us whilst getting free advertising plus the added bonus of feeling noble about themselves ? Cheers either way

Hi Guys, as some of you on here know, i run a couple of under 7's junior teams in the Hightown League along with some fantastic and dedicated coaches Sorrento Juniors . We are currently in desperate need of sponsorship as it's something we have never had and we are in financial need to give the lads new training gear, kit etc.. - all our gear up to now has come out of subs and our own pocket, but the rising costs of match fee's and training facilities doesn't really make this sustainable, plus i don't want to turn kids of this age away and was hoping to be able to expand our number of teams in the summer due to the interest we are currently getting. We are based in Walton but have kids from all over the ciity and surrounding area playing for us. Our emphasis as a club is not on winning (although both teams are doing quite well) but on giving the kids enjoyment, fun and the same amount of time on the pitch regardless of ability, this is why i try to run a policy of never turning a child away from football (which is kind of why i'm cap in hand looking for sponsors before this summer) inclusion is very much the name of the game at this age i feel. Does anyone on here fancy sponsoring us either on shirts or via the advertising space on our website or if not would you be kind enough to ask around and see if you know anyone who would be ? Our site gets quite a few hits (100,000 last quarter) i can explain privately why (at least i have a fair idea) Mods, hope it's okay to post this if not then feel free to delete, i've posted a link to ynwa.tv on our site too. If anyone who goes on other sites could spread the word that would be great too. Cheers Lads, thanks for reading . Mick

HaHaHaHa ! CLASSIC !! PMSL !!! -
Maybe he loves us and the club that much that he won't f*** off till after the other two w@nkers f*** off . . . maybe. Christ knows any other manager thats had to put up with the s*** he's put up with from the owners would have gone a long time ago, he's been had off big time by them just as much as we have and his actions and dignity show he cares. That said, i wish he'd f*** the 4231 off while Torres is injured and at least employ some sort of attacking prowess against s**** teams...plus i wish half the team would stop sulking and start playing like they actually give a f***. Oh and i don't like Pellegrino, something about the look in his eyes tell me he's a wrongun'

This is true, if he has told the owners of his intentions to leave and has agreed a deal with Juve then it makes no sense to let him manage us until the end of the season - either replace him now or get someone else in in the iterim whilst we look for a full time replacement . If it's true of course (would explain Hicks being at the game Saturday though)

Its crap though innit, playing week in week out not to lose instead of playing to win, if we do lose anyway though at least we controlled the game eh It's turgid, drab and depressing, no wonder the players don't look arsed it must be infuriating to have the quality we have to choose from and then see the same line up week in and week out with the same tired formation of one up top regardless of who is fit and available. We have the quality in the squad to go out there and really take the game to teams and in most cases have two quality players for each position. Why not go with just one defensive mid playing the 'Didi role' with two attacking fullbacks on the overlap, 3 attacking mids and two up top ? ------------------------------------Reina------------------------------------- Degen/Johnson---Carra/Greek----Agger/Skrtl------Insua/Aurelio -----------------------------Masch/Lucas---------------------------------- Babel/Maxi-------------Gerrard/Aquilani-------------Reira/Yossi-- ----------------Torres/Pachecho----Kuyt/Ngog------------------- An attacking line up, two players to battle it out for each position giving good competition to each other and providing cover for injuries, at least we'd get some entertainment into the bargain too.

This can't continue, were in real danger of going into freefall. I support Rafa to a point but to come out and say we were controlling the game until the sending off and then blame the referee for the loss just shows how blinkered he is at the moment. We need to be starting against teams like this with two up top and not two holding midfielders in my opinion. He's clearly feeling the pressure big time and the players are either being forced to play a certain way and its not working or their just not getting what the manager wants them to do, either way the buck stops with Rafa here, we either need an immediate change in fortunes and perfomances or he has to go now. If we were playing well and losing i could handle it but we are playing truly abysmal football and the players look lost and fed up out there, especially Torres.

Tom and George - Not Welcome Here - Sunday
Mick_G replied to Spirit Of Shankly 's topic in Liverpool FC
Posted by Graham Smith on Rawk :- Fvckin well in lads , This is the story of the day from an SOS perspective (I'll post this on other sites too if you don't mind). By about 12.45pm we had each of the four entrances covered by about 10 or 15 people but the numbers grew throughout the afternoon. We had been contacted in the morning by the police who had got wind of some sort of protest (they mentioned websites so quite clearly, and understandably, they monitor what is posted). I have been the liaison with the Police so we indicated that there was to be a protest as we understood the owners where to attend. I was told in that conversation that the Club had said that none of the owners where to attend. The point was made that all the officer (who to be fair is extremely reasonable and fair as far as my dealings have been with him) was doing was repeating what he had been told. We made the point that everyone would look very stupid if it turned out that the Club were trying it on. The officer said he would be personally "very emabarrassed". We then got credible reports from the people inside the Club at a senior level that Foster Gillett was going to attend. This clearly put a different slant on the misinformation that the police were receiving. By about 1.45pm it was clear that we could not rely upon anything we were hearing so it was decided to concentrate upon the Shankly Gates entrance and everyone was whistled around to there. With onlookers and those taking part there were now a couple of hundred people. The stewards were fine (only doing their jobs) but were starting to overstep their authority with stepping out of the gates and asking people to move back. At this stage there was only one officer deployed but shortly four police horses arrived and then a further couple after that. Then a minibus of police deployed by us as well. If you know the Shankly Gates and Anfield Road there is a small pavement either side of the road by the entrance. We were penned to the right hand side as you look at the gates with horses next to us. There were a couple of false alarms (Howard Webb's minibus got challenged at one point and a Carlsberg bus got stopped and emptied) but no one senior from the Club was able or prepared to say anything other than they had been told that neither of the owners were coming. Upon being challenged by us about the fact that there were credible sources saying that Foster Gillett was coming despoite them telling the police what they did the response was "he's not an owner, he's only a director". That didn't help the situation. The crowd built until there was a shout that a silver people carrier had Foster Gillett in it (we had spotters up the road). At this point there was the only flashpoint of the afternoon, a couple of the horses pranced around a bit, one sitting on the car bonnet and the officers jumped in. One officer on a horse was pretty aggressive but the horse deployment itself was over the top and caused more problems than it solved. There was a surge from the pavement and the minibus was stopped. In the melee the police arrested two lads (one a Committee Member) for "public order" offences. The previous arrest was a drunk and disorderly of a bloke who wouldn't stop backchatting the same horse officer who seemed the most aggressive. The police made it clear that they would allow the demonstration but would not allow the road to be blocked. The senior officer took a couple of us to one side and indicated that he felt the atmosphere was not peaceful. We had previously asked him to verify who was in the ground and who was not. The view being that if he verified they were already in then that would lower the temperature, but if they were not in then he should also tell us and get verification of who was expected. He said, not unreasonably, that he would be relying upon what he was told by the Club and also the message that he was getting was that the "Club" didn't know who was coming or not coming. We responded by saying that in that case we would remain for as long as we could. Ultimately the officer said to us that he would not allow the owners to come to the ground as he felt that there was a safety issue all round. We said what did that mean and he said that he would turn their vehicle away from Anfield Road. We said all all that would do would be to see them sneak in somewhere else. He said no, the police monitored all approaches and would not allow them near. We remained for another 15 minutes or so as the officer disappeared. Next thing is two lads who had been further up the road said a Black Range Rover had stopped and a police officer had got in and turned the car around while staying in it himself. One lad said he was 95% certain that Tom Hicks was in the car. The crowd stayed a liitle longer (it was now 3.15pm) but we slowly dispersed on the following bases: 1. This is not a one off isolated protest; 2. We had made a very serious point to the Club about the owners no longer being welcome; 3. The police assurred us that the owners would not be allowed near the ground today, and on the basis that we would see if that happened (i.e. that both the police and Club could be believed) - if the police weren't truthful or the Club continued to lie then the next protest would not cooperate; 4. There was no doubt that the protest had made a mark. Ultimately, I'd characterise the protest as "feisty" but definitely peaceful and non-violent. There were empty seats in the Directors' Box but we await feedback from all sources about who actually did or didn't get in. We also await information about the three arrested lads who we were told were taken to Wavertree nick. All in all, the ante has been upped and we'll be back next time we get a sniff that they intend to try and swan in to our ground.
