Agreed. Most teams in the league would crumble under that pressure. And when that has happened (when we are 1 or 2 goals up) we can go back to being cautious. Instead we seem to do things the other way around.... which doesn't make sense.

It was never a penalty. Hit his shoulder and not his arm. But I'm not complaining.

Sign him up for a long term contract. Give him the backing he deserves and we'll be back where we belong soon enough.

Check the rules for serious foul play. Winning the ball doesn't really matter if your go into the tackle like that. Just like flying in with both feet at knee height wouldn't be OK even if you touched the ball first.

According to the laws of the game that's a red card. I think many just think it's sweet/fun that something like this has gone our way.

About the red... take a look at the pic in the FIFA Laws of the game (p. 117) book you can find on the FA site. Pretty similar to Lampards challenge.

If you have the right attitude (something we all know Rafa values almost more than ability ) you'd work as had as possible trying to prove Rafa wrong. You'd listen to everything Rafa says and try to adapt. Simple as that. It doesn't seem like Keane did/does that.

uhhhh... how did Rafa make sure Keane wouldn't do well here? Keane has been terrible in almost every game he's played. Can't blame that on Rafa.

For me this is simply the question of "How many points do we have now compared to last season?" As long as there's progress (or at least as good for one or two seasons) I don't see the problem. We are getting 2.08 points per game this season while we got 1.81 last season (if I read RedMarauders post correctly). If we keep this tempo to the end we will be challenging. That's what we need to do.

Agreed. Two obvious penalties with the ref just a few metres away and still nothing. We need to start paying the refs as much (or more) than the Mancs do..... (we were still sh*t)
