You can't sack him unless there is a world class replacement lined up. Benitez is certainly proving 'the americans' right at the moment though for being in the market trying to find someone (sadly they only found Klinsman though). If we could get Mourinho in right now I'd be very happy. Rafa is not taking us forwards at the moment, the team has gone totally stale and it is embarrasing to watch.

If we finish 6th, go out to Inter and lose to Barnsley, Gillet and Hicks are still owners, and Rafa gets sacked and they get in a world class proven manager (Mourinho) I'd be happy about a fresh start. If we finish 3rd, win the European cup and win the FA Cup, Gillet and Hicks are gone and Rafa has made astute purchases then I'd also be happy and looking forward to the next season. The first question has no context, and the other two aren't really to do with the owners anyway, all the merchandise is over priced b******s and I don't think anyone buys it. Null vote for me. If we do well on the pitch I don't care who the owners are. Rafa has had a lot of money, its time for im to prove his worth in the league. If we start playing well with what weve already spent and Gillet and Hicks are still undermining his position and not granting him funds then I'd be very pissed off, if we continue in our current vein and the owners actaully see a class manager to bring in (Not Klinnsman) then I can't say I'd be that pissed off at all.

Oh. My. Gosh.

"Yankees Yankees f*ck off home" ...In what way does singing that kind of smalltime tosh help!? Laughable stuff. The message of these self-dubbed 'reclaimers' shouldn't get clouded into some generalist, xenophobic, anti-American mess. Unfortunately, judging by the title of their message and suggested 'catchy ditties', it seems that has already happened...

its time for us all to get behind rafa and the players

TOOOOOOON ARRRRRRMY. -
I'd take him. I think hes a very good manager. And he's actually got a bit of personality about him.

I'd just keep the super villains that are ruining the football club, thats right.... "The Americans" ! Keep them for the foreseeable future see what happens. Same with Rafa. Re-asses it at the end of the season and get to know about other potential owners. Theres no need to rush into anything, and for all the tabloid speculation on the errors G and H have made, they've still financed our best signing for a long long time. (Yes net spend we raised the money ourselves bla bla bla) We never brought players for even near that much money before end of story. Give them time. If they f*** us over get rid, if they don't keep them. At the moment im much more worried about the position of manager rather than owner.

What's the team??

Gerrard and Reina. Agger deserves a shout as well for me despite the injuries, when he's been fit he's been very impressive.

I actually like this switch. Be easier to get tickets for it now its on a week night. Wouldn't of bothered otherwise because I doubt any would of gone online and you may aswell just flush a tenner down the s***ter then try and get one on the phones now.

lol... It's a bit random isn't it. What would you do just sit in a half empty stand and get the old sangria going when he starts warming up after 60 mins!?
-
Are RTK going to have another protest and give out leaflets slagging off 'The Americans' again?? Can't wait.

What about everyones favourite Goalkeeper.... DAVVVVVVVVVVVVVVID JAMESSSSSSSSSSSSS ??

If we lose on Tuesday and on Sunday then I'll be f***ing fuming. For now I'm going to give Rafa and his quite inexplicable handling of today's game the benefit of the doubt. Both games are must win now though. I don't wanna be 10 points off the league leaders and out the European Cup before Christmas, it'd be pathetic after the money we've spent over the last few seasons.

He's magicccccccccc....

Whole situation has been blown so far out of proportion it just seems ridiculous. Couldn't believe it when I turned up in the Arkles on Weds to find loadsa leaflets on the bar saying that there's going to a protest because 'The Americans' are ruining the club, and they want to sack Rafa and if this does happen it means all our Spanish players are just going to leave and Stevie would probs go with them! I always thought they played for Liverpool Football Club and not just Rafa Benitez FC but there you go. If they are just going to leave when Rafa goes, then they can f*** off now. Don't get me wrong, sacking Rafa now would be pathetic at this moment in time, but there was never any proper evidence this was ever going to happen. A bit of ranting in the press from both parties which im sure has now been sorted out behind closed doors as it should be is all that seems to have gone on. But for some reason certain groups seem to have jumped on the ridiculous speculation all over the media that usually we don't take any notice of. I thought 'RTK' were dead against tabloid b******s but they seem to have taken it all in and 10x more as 'the Americans' seem to have become public enemy no. 1 in their eyes. Just seems like a case of such short memories. They financed deals for Torres and Babel who we simply would not have been able to afford beforehand. They developed our new stadium which everyone f***ing loved. When they came out before the Chelsea semi everyone was singing their praises. Now a bit of an arguement and what seems to be a lack of communication between Rafa, Parry and G&H has led to all the good work G&H have put in being overshadowed by a petty bit of propoganda put in every pub on a match day, that says they don't know the 'Liverpool way' at all. And all this is based on is the newspapers and certain sell out columnists that reckon they know what goes on behind closed doors. Yeah we should back the manager as at the moment we are looking in very good shape and have come through quite a rocky patch pretty much on fire. But taking sides in such a vehement manner in my opinion was petty in the extreme. I know RTK doesn't represent everyone and neither does the flyers they put out etc. But just thought i'd throw in my opinion. Was gonna post this after the match but just got f***ing hammered and only really remembered about it today!

Haven't noticed any improvement in the atmosphere to be honest although I haven't been to every game... I thought at least Marseille might be good but even that was s***e, but then the performance was so dire everything just seemed so half hearted. I don't think it'll be good until the derby and the Mancs, and the knock out stages of the European Cup... (if we get there!)

If we really are one of the top teams in the world
Koller49 replied to New York Red 's topic in Liverpool FC
I'd rather have Yossi, Harry and 'big SEB' to play 'in the hole'... we need more strikers who can only hold the ball up and can't score goals!111!111! (If we sign Ronaldinho AND start him you can ridicule this post) -
'Fancards' have ruined Liverpool. That and the lack of window sales - and reliance of putting all tickets on a premium phone line if you haven't got a ST. Jus go the boozer, its louder than Anfield anyway - even if the boozer is empty the barmaid coming to take your glasses makes more noise than Anfield for a league game!
-
Fixtures conspiracy!? Thought we were above that. I reckon our fixtures are much better this season than last year when we had all our hardest away games in the first half. We've got early away games after the international break!? - f***ing deal with it.
-
Ahhhhhhhhh i see, way too good for me - I was thinking of the 20th century wild west shootist... I like it better that way
-
I don't get it at all, but it made me laugh! I'm definately using it tommorow afternoon in the boozer when we score.

It's nothing on the newly formed 1892 block which contains the best 1892 Liverpool fans in the world. 202 is now full of Norweigan day trippers. The Kop is caught in a type of class struggle and revolution that hasn't been seen since Tsarist Russia. (In actual answer to the question a few lads at the back of 202 get songs going and bang the wall, although I wouldn't expect too much for Derby)
-
Rubbish. If there was a striaght choice about one of them leaving the club I'd choose Alonso in an instant. Gerrard and Carragher are currently the heartbeat of Liverpool Football Club. Without them the squad would lose a lot of its Character, passion and drive. That would be nigh on impossible to replace. Without Alonso the club would lose a good central midfielder with a nice range of passing. That could be replaced.
-
I agree with this to be honest. I'd play Mascherano and Gerrard, but would have no qualms with Alonso partnering Gerrard instead. Xabi's last season was his worst since joining the club, I don't think anyone can argue with that - party he's a victim of his own high standards as everyone knows what he can do. But on quite a few occasions last season, for whatever reason, his passes just werent coming off, even the simple ones, and there would be periods in games where the action would pass him by. He's a class act no doubt, but so is Mascherano, and I think Masch is more suited to go up against Chelsea's midfield.
