Think the whole thing is quite funny to be honest. Dunno why people are having so much of a go at any of the lads. Bellamy started on Riise when he was pissed over a Kareoke disupte, Dudek started mouthing off at a policeman. It was what, 5 days before the match? I mean come on, it doesnt take 5 days to recover after going out for a piss up. Yeah in an ideal world they should never get drunk, or get annoyed with each other. But in reality once in a while they are going to want to do what probably 99% of their mates get up to on a regular basis. It's up to Riise aswell if he tells people what happened to him. It's not a "s***house" thing to do if he tells his family or his national team coach what happened if asked. Anyone with half an ounce of sense will see that its not a big deal anyway. Just makes people believe we have even less of a chance against Barcelona now, which in my opinion isn't a bad thing. The lads will hopefully go out there motivated to prove a few people wrong. Bit of a scandal never hurt anyone. Barcelona will think they've already got it won.

f*** it ive done it, £4 Riise to score and Liverpool to win 11/1 .. go on JONNY LAD.. Right i'm going to the pub to watch Riise have his game of the season.

It's a sad day when we're debating over whether an horrendously out of form John Arne Riise, or Boudweijn Zenden should start at left wing... "possibilities" Nah we'll be alright, bout time Riise had a good game... I hope.

The Vine Inn which is opposite sorta bargain booze and kebaabish on Smithdown sometimes has them on I think...

Yeah thats fair enough, I suppose you've got a more positive outlook on what he did for us. For me it was moments of class in amongst periods of mediocracy. For me a striker putting effort in is someone closing down defenders, always wanting the ball and always moving off the ball - Kuyt does that, even Crouch does it most of the time, Bellamy does that - I can't fault any of those 3 for effort. For me Morientes just didn't do it - fair enough he's quite old, but he got more than enough games to prove himself and all to often it was the same old story, especially away from home. The league didn't suit him, that is true, but I still think he could of made it work, as the games vs Fulham, Charlton and Boro showed - they were like watching a different player to the one that seemed to usually turn up. Bit of a s*** discussion anyway really because he doesn't play for us anymore... but still - I'm bored of everyone picking faults in our current strikers
-
Yeah I forgot about Boro fair play - remember those goals - all the more frustrating because it shows what he could do. The never moved stuff seemed the general consesus for most of the games I was at anyway. Most people I speak to are pleased we got rid when we did because too often the game just passed him by. Don't really post on here much so don't really know about the revisionism that has set in on here

Couldn't really hear them from the Kop - only the Gerrard song. I thought there fans were s*** until the last 5 or so minutes when it was like they'd won the league. Talked to my bluenose mate though and he seemed adamant they outsung us. He was surprised at some of the stuff they came out with - loves the Gerrard song though. w*****s anyway.
-
he never moved!! I thought off the ball he was shocking. Never ran the channels, always wanted the perfect pass. I just don't remember this tackling back and setting up attacks, I just remember going to games like Soton away or Brum away, watching us get dicked and Morientes standing there watching the game completely passing him by. Nearly all my mates agree with me on that when we talk about him .. Then you come on here and people sing his praises. Strange how people interpret the game differently. Interesting though.
-
Must of been watching a different Morientes to me then. The only times I can remember him putting any effort in was Charlton away and Fulham - other then that it looked like he couldnt be arsed. Quality player, poor for us. Can't say I'm "made up for him", more frustrated that he didn't come here and score. As Rory said, I'd rather have Kuyt.

ha.. he f***in wishes... someone will kill the b*****d before the mancs have won 19.
-
s*** if this is true its a killer... Used to like seeing him at the games, proper legend. RIP

Can't say i'm gutted. The fella is a prick. Rafa will find something better..

You decide

"Always look on the runwa...."

I'd agree with that. Hows he going to build fitness if he only plays one full competitive match every month and a bit? Give him a run. Goals to starts this season he's done better than most.

The Best bit was that in the Kop when they started doing it, this one Cockney Red went f***ing mental, starting going like "f*** off you gooner c****, wheres your european cups, gooner w*****s" .. and a few lads turned round and started chantin "are you Tottenham in disguise" pointing at him

I'm glad we kept Murphy... Allez Allez

Absolute Class that was. We went out the cup, but thats probably the most proud ive left Anfield this season. Fair play to the RTK lads for arranging this - they did a great job. And for everyone for joining in for the first six, and for the rest of the game. Best atmosphere for ages.

Used to take one.. Dunno just dont anymore, just dont take anything. As a kid you kinda had the buzz to wear the full kit and the scarf and the hat etc. I know I used to, but jus kinda grew out of it. Usually go into town after the games aswell now, so it just seems easier to wear "normal" clothes and stuff... Nothing wrong with taking a scarf though, I reckon its class when everyone spins em round whilst doin ring of fire, or holds em up for YNWA. It's like when your in the Kop watching the Euro Away fans all jumping up and down with linked arms / holding up scarves and banners. It looks quality, I'd imagine its the same for them when they look at us. Just don't seem to get that with any other English clubs.

Chelsea definately. Really isnt much difference between 2nd and 3rd bar a qualifier at the end of june which we should always win. But there is a big difference between Chelsea winning the league and the Mancs. If the Mancs win the league it'd be horrendous.
