Roberts is a moron. I did a bit of a silly thing just before Christmas in 2011 and text in to FiveLive after one of our wins, stating we were going to be okay under Kenny but Carroll was a square peg in a round hole and a huge waste of money. One of their producers phoned me back and asked if I wanted to talk about my view of Carroll on air with Mark Chapman and Jason Roberts. When I got on air and pointed out we were trying to play fluid, quick passing football, and that Carroll would never fit in, Roberts countered with the point that we should basically turn ourself into Wimbledon. He then proceeded to compare him to Drogba and Ibrahimovic. I said yeah, he's just like those two but without the pace, the first touch, the ability to create something out nothing, and the ability to score goals. He'd have benefited from our new style I think. Not least because he was a clever guy and made some terrific runs. I could definitely have seen him playing central with Suarez supporting, much like we're seeing with Sturridge now.

Napoli have an Argie defender (Federico Fernandez) out on loan at Getafe, only 23, big, strong, quick, full International - I'd bet they would cash in on him for a decent offer. Amorebieta would be brilliant on a free though.
