Jota hasn't scored many either. This Slot approach doesn't seem to create much for the person playing at 9. Its more about getting the wide player 1v1 in dangerous areas. I blame Jota for being injury prone and a slow healer! If he had been fit we would have seen a lot less of Nunez. I also think Nunez was not the reason we failed to win last night. Others stank out the place too - looked a game too far for some With all that said, we should be looking to replace him with someone better. Not that many obvious candidates though. Isak looks great, but is injury prone. Not convinced by Gyorkes (think he will struggle in PL and interesting no-one has taken a gamble on him yet). Oshimhen also picks up injuries and its weird that he has ended up on loan at Galatasaray - something odd going on there. Cunha - looks good, but not convinced he is better than what we have. Who else is out there?

Genuinely think Nunez is the better player

They just didn't develop physically to adapt to the men's game. One didn't grow, the other wasn't quick or strong enough

It wouldn't be at all surprising if some of them thought it was time for a change, after listening to the same messages for so long. It's completely normal in any workplace. Importantly it's worth remembering that Jurgen himself thought it was time for a change - and as usual he appears to have been proved right (so far)

The excuse at the time was they were so fixated on the offside (or not) for the potential penalty that they forgot to consider the potential red card. Obviously a good process

He has. Biggest issue is staying fit to get decent runs in the team. He does pick up a lot of small injuries that disrupt his availability

I think you forget how Cisse was even more frustrating. Only ran in straight lines, offside more than Nunez and could only blam his shots. Nunez has far more to his game, even if his decision making is questionable

Don't think we can read that much into selections for first three games. With how late some returned, there wasn't opportunity to work with them much. With all the games between now and Xmas everyone will get chances to impress. It's then up to them. If Nunez still isn't getting starts after that period it will be clear the manager doesn't fancy him, don't think we can say that now

There is a difference between being confident in your all round play and being confident in your finishing. He hasn't scored for us for a while and used to score more frequently at previous clubs

I think it was the opposite - lacking confidence in his finishing, made him second guess himself and try to make the opportunity better because of the presence of the defender sliding in. Just needed to stick it in the net first time and consider his options afterwards
