  7. This concept is beginning to get seriously exaggerated now.
  8. Chelsea and ManU could easily slip up there too
  9. FA Cup draw on red nose day???
  10. What if you have a forward minded central defender?
  11. Stats from the league yesterday, total attempted passes and percentage success: Lloris, 32% (of 19) Mannone, 56% (of 27) de Gea, 56% (of 16) Krul, 37% (of 27) Mignolet, 71% (of 24) Jaaskelainen, 28% (of 18) Gazzaniga, 81% (of 16) Pantilimon, 38% (of 24) Begovic, 41% (of 22) Cech, 53% (of 17) Myhill, 79% (of 14) Ruddy, 33% (of 33)
  12. The throw that went about two thirds of the pitch into the path of Sterling? Was ace that.
  13. Thought he improved as the game went on, building his confidence and appetite. Really should stay in the side now for a good spell. Skrtel too was much better to playing beside him (don't think Skrtel could avoid the og much, he had to do something). But Sakho's speed, strength and directness I think should have him on the team sheet for the foreseeable future.
  14. Me too. Prefer to see their confidence rocked and drift away from us altogether. Being neck and neck with us puts un-needed extra pressure on Rodgers too.

  16. his linking and movement was superb though, he was unlucky not to score
  17. Likely relieved. Being reliant on Suarez though shouldn't be making him happy
  18. Similarly weak in the air and similarly prone to errors. Skrtel is less prone to letting players run pass him, Agger is less prone to giving it away, but overall they are similar enough for it to be a problem when they are paired. Defensively he was worse than Skrtel last night too (who won all his aerial battles and made more clearances etc). Both are worse than Sakho and Toure, though Toure may be fading from his initial start of season high. And as I said, "being good in possession" should not be the priority part for a first choice CB.
  19. Norwich managed fourteen shots at our goal - was surprised when I saw that stat after the match but kind of suggests he was right to be unhappy.
  20. Why pick one of the worst defenders for that role, I don't get that at all? I understand the Agger love, he comes across as very loyal and looked in his day to be a new Hansen, but he's become a really poor defender (at this level). Our second goal came from Skrtel's raking pass from the back too by the way whereas, to reiterate, our only conceded goal came from Agger switching off to the threat, losing position and then failing to challenge aerially (the consistent criticism of his play all year and more). Essentially the two players are very similar and neither should be considered good enough to be first choice if we're hoping to advance on where we were last season. Really, I would expect more from any player considered "first choice" than being "good in possession" which is, after all, less than 50% of what should be demanded from a top CB.
  21. You said Aggers and AN Other, that's tonight's defence: Agger and another player. But both are currently not good enough so that doesn't really matter
  22. ie keep tonight's defence? It's rubbish. Their goal was Aggers responsibility too. Arguably we have more composure when he plays and we are in possession of the ball but as Brendan himself just said, the key role of a defender is to defend. Of course he then picks two CBs who are consistently poor (this season anyhow) at defending but there you go.
  23. The side didn't win 5-1, Suarez beat Norwich 5-1. I know Man Utd managed to do well for years reliant, basically, on just one player but it does my head in seeing us follow that tack.
  24. Where are you getting that from??? Rodgers earlier claimed he was immense in training so he drops him just to see if it annoys him? As bizarre as anything else if true I suppose
  25. No, defence still needs fixing
