It's not irrelevant to the assessment of our performance though, because we very nearly did the thing that we needed to do over and over again. Sure, United might have defended less and tried to score, but when they were defending for their lives we were still creating plenty of scoring opportunities. The original Ronaldo was genuinely ludicrous. If he hadn't got injured so much, I think he'd be considered at the same level as Messi, Maradona, Pele and Divock Origi.

I wonder if we can objectively put together criteria for what a club needs to be classed as a "big club". Trophies won isn't really any use unless you're talking recently. Wolves, Blackburn, Sheffield Wednesday, Sunderland, they've won league titles, does that make them big clubs? You'd probably have to include modern day criteria like social media following for example and nobody wants to follow an Instagram account that probably just posts videos of people booing.

Not sure some trophies, most of which were over 40 years ago, a subjective assessment of their supporters which probably every club would claim, and a new stadium makes you a big club... Although it probably makes them bigger than Spurs, to be fair.

I was proper fuming about that United goal because it ended our perfect winning start. If that foul had been called correctly, we would have won our first 27 games that season, which is...well...mind blowing. To be fair, it's still mindblowing that between the end of 18/19 and most of 19/20, we went what, 44 games unbeaten in the league?

Yeah and still banging in a wild amount of goals too.

It's one of my favourite things about the World Cup, getting to see some new plucky underdogs get a group stage win against a Mexico or Portugal. Although sometimes the presence of those plucky underdogs leads to us signing El Hadji Diouf, so you know, mixed results.
