  1. I've been saying he'll go for a while now. Since his various outbursts in the press and not accepting being substituted when he was subbed his days have been numbered. he may last the summer if we can't get anyone good in but there's little chance of him being here next season. Its touch and go who is the better finisher out of him and Pongolle. If you add to that the fact that Pongolle will do as he's told and like it and the fact that Cisse is all Johnny big potatoes with very little end product then the writing is on the wall. Not being knee jerk but he was s**** today and its not the first time.
  2. The lure of lining up alongside Nick Bramby was too great for Welshy to turn down. Hull fans must be licking their lips at that midfield.
  3. Valente is piss poor. They won't play that Kroldrup (or whatever his name is) because they reckon he can't head a ball. Neville, their midfield inspiration looks unfit to lace Salif Diao's boots. Who else did they sign ? Van der Meyde ? has he played yet ? Funniest football club in the world.
  4. as much as I like to see a blue get sent off and then a shot of Moyes in the dugout looking like he's going to explode, there was no way Arteta should have been booked for that. Its just that Poll had gone card-happy and had to keep booking players.
  5. He threw his shirt into the crowd at the end. Obviously a farewell gesture as he is going to Marseille.
  6. nah, his first booking was harsh, as was Crouch's. Thats not to say that Poll was against us, he just let a lot of Everton fouls go unpunished in the 1st half and then all of a sudden gave cards for everything.
  7. These fixtures turn the form book on its head.

  10. I know but they start chanting Souness' name when they win, then they lose to Wigan in the cup and he's s*** again.
  11. Good footballer though, and he's not on the same bellend scale as Lampard, Drogba or Gudjohnsson.
  12. Would love to get Gallas but there's no way Chelsea would sell to us. I'm sure Rafa will find someone as good.
  13. It would be very funny if they didn't get into Europe and had to start selling. Their fans would start demanding Souness out and sack Shepherd. It could be almost as funny as Leeds and provide a welcome distraction to laughing at Everton.
  14. We know what we sold him to madrid for and the release clause is rumoured to be not fat off that. So it would be perfectly reasonable for us to make an offer of 12.5 million or whatever and trigger the clause. Not that I think its likely, but if we did go in with a bid it would be around that level anyway so we don't need any inside info.
  15. Thats what agents are for isn't it. I don't think Owen will come here simply because I think Rafa has bigger priorities, will get better value elsewhere and he's waved goodbye to us twice now already. BUT, most of us were surprised when he left for madreid and then doubly surprised when he went up there to that two-bit club. There's no telling what can happen.
  16. Brilliant management. Resting Gerrard for Man U where he is the key player. Pongolle will surprise Betis because they won't have prepared for him. Josemi has impressed in his last few run outs for 1st team and reserves. Plenty on the bench to change things/apply pressure 2nd half.

  18. Hamman was poor against CSKA Sofia, but this kind of game, against stronger opposition we tend to see Didi come into his own.
  19. Would like to see Pongolle play, he needs more than 6 minutes at the end of a game.
  20. agree with that, and if i'm honest I don't think its worth worrying over. Benitez won't allow any deal for Owen blow all his funds for his other targets. While some on this board are going ape, i'm just slightly irritated by the way Madrid seem to be playing us.
  21. Villa knew Milan Baros wanted to play for them and so were able to offer less than Lyon. Its simmilar in the situation with Michael Owen/Madrid/Newcastle. He wants to play for us so we should negotiate hard. One thing is for sure...the price will be somewhere between £10 and £15 million
  22. As a point of negotiation with Madrid I think Parry and co will be talking about the figure Madrid paid last year and offering a simmilar amount. OK maybe we should pay a bit more because he's developed a little as a player, but not 5 or 7 million pounds more. If he doesn't want to go to Newcastle then we, and Owen, are in the box seats and it should be just as it was last summer when he would only go to Madrid.
  23. "It appears Real owe us £4M, this figure has been used. If this is true we could offer, say £6M now and £5M next season, this and the £4M they owe us????." Thats a s*** deal for us Dave ! Effectively paying Madrid about £7 million net to have Owen for one season.
  24. Ujanicka b******ov has a little something extra about him
