I think he's one of the players who has made a massive contribution to our season. I take your point he isnt the finished article, but there is much to his game that is key to how we play. In a dream world he's competing with another number 10 for a starting place but we are miles off that. At the moment he's competing with Elliott, who has made 0 starts. It is clear it will be Elliott who gets sold and upgraded, and rightly so. Hopefully the Elliott upgrade will increase competition

Its not the most mouth watering list of strikers is it. Isak looks the best of that lot. But £150m is at least £50m too much. We will have to address our loss of creativity this summer as well. Its going to be hard to do that and buying an 'elite' no. 9 without getting much change from £200m.

McManaman hurt a lot - I really loved him as a player Torres stung. Suarez was inevitable, but a shocking bit of managing by the club, particularly in how they wasted the cash. Gutting to see him go. The Alonso sob story is b******s - he wanted to go to Madrid, so he went. Annoyed me a lot too because i really liked him as a player. again, we got his replacement horribly wrong -
I'm not saying they dont want to stay, but they havent signed anything theyve been offered, and they are out of contract at the end of the season Yep, I get it - totally.

VVD and Salah have both run their contracts down too. Konate and Allison may well do the same I don't hold it against them - they are perfectly entitled to do so.

I never have said a bad word about him - you are right. I love him as a player and i forgive mistakes that come from being creative and making things happen. He's been a huge part of our success the last few years. His defending is much better than he's given credit for. His passing ability is out of this world fantastic. I can't think of a better English passer of a ball that I've seen, including Gerrard.

Earl, you can't seriously keep downplaying Trent's creative input and his helping Salah do what he has. Its just rewriting history and undermining any credible argument you may have.
