Dear oh Dear.. Ok, I think we can all agree that Cisse won't make an all time LFC XI, but to vilify him after a game in which we have reached the FA Cup Final really pisses me off. I could be wrong here coz alcohol has killed some of my memory cells, but I THINK that Cisse came on when we were 2-0 up, NOT 2-1 up. If so, it's a fair enough substitution. But Chelsea had no option BUT to put us under pressure from the 65th minute onwards and being put under this pressure is NOT Cisse's fault that we were put under this pressure. Cisse has been most effective in the past three months when he's been played wide right, accepting Xabi's passes and skinning the full back. In the last 20 minutes on Saturday, Xabi had more things on his mind than trying to find Cisse wide right - he was too busy defending deep midfield along with Momo and Stevie - let's leave Traore out of the debate for now (when IS he gonna get longer studs on his boots by the way?). Therefore Cisse had, on the whole, only hoofs from the back four to chase up the park against the three defenders who were marking him. Ok, he was out of position for most of these, but it wasn't THAT easy for him. About 8 minutes from the end Reina kicked a ball out of hand that went 40 yards away from Cisse and Mori - are we going to start to pick on him, too? Cisse, ANY Liverpool player - deserves more respect than he's gotten on this forum over the past few months. He had big, BIG balls to score that goal in Istanbul, casually "re-spotting" the ball before passing it past Dida, in front of the Milan fans, months after nearly losing his leg. We're in the final. He played his part. Cut the fellah some slack.
