Does he speak any Spanish, Dutch or Portuguese?
-
Does that mean that we're getting Henry? (Dream) Who is our man in Spain for updates?
-
So second place will be very beneficial for Rafa to get all his summer targets as we need as much money as possible. Besides the FA Cup title holder recognition, is there a financial side to it as well? Not forgetting if we win the cup it will be another match against Chelsea, especially with moaning maureen.

I don't like his running style reminds of a Shirley Temple/Judy Garland ...............

If Arsenal win or draw against Man City then the choice of Matches to be viewed on sky with any real interest will be: Sunday, 07 May 2006 Portsmouth v Liverpool Man Utd v Charlton Arsenal v Wigan West Ham v Tottenham Surely the 2nd and 3rd place battle is more watchable than the 4th and 5th place one.

Has the last day games been decided yet?
-
Now that Shrek is out it will be interesting if the Mancs have the same drive for their next two games. Hopefully Boro and Charlton can surprise them. I would be happy with them getting two draws and a last day win at portsmouth by us, although there is the small matter of the FA Cup to prepare for and resting players. This would allow us to rest players and prepare better for next season, with them returning from the WC. Please no one go out and bet on this happening. P GD PTS 2 Liverpool 38 n\a 82 3 Mancs 38 n\a 81

Is Kuyt a gamble? Will he need time to adjust and has he got the required pace for the next stage? If he is similar to Morientes (in movement and ability) then surely we only need one of the two. As for Torres, he will also need time to adjust to the PREM like Moro. Bent is younger and Proven in the Premiership. Now that Curbishley is gone he can play the unsettled player role. I just hopes he does not freeze on the big stage. Defoe does not know where he is at the mo but his price may go up as it looks like he will go to the WC now. As for CM then Joey Barton or Marcos Senna(Villareal) would do nicely if Didi goes. Would like to see Aimar behind the strikers and occasionally popping up on either wing. If Jan does go then I would like to see Chimbonda in.

Pascal Chimbonda was being linked to us a few weeks back......... Can't remember the source.

I hope he plays well if there. T Henry has that similar role on the left. Although Henry is right footed he does most of his damage to teams by appearing on the left. How many times does Henry ever play on the right?

Not another Wimbledon

What's his contract situation, has he signed for blackburn or is he still on loan?

Sissoko is already out but when both are able to play with their different responsibilities on the pitch but at the sametime which one do you feel would be more easily replaceble with our current squad and recent form. When I see the confirmed Team news without Sissoko, I feel that there is a big hole in the team in the way of strength, energy, while providing that needed bite in the Prem and intimidating their players. His passing is off at times but some of that is down to some of our players not supporting him after he wins the ball. While Gerrard is the inspiration of the team who picks up the tempo while others fall into the La Liga tempo habit and wait for something to happen rather than make it happen, provides long range passing, goal threats and good crosses whether playing central or wide. I'm not saying that the other Midfielders don't contribute but those two do what other players cannot provide. Sure we won in Europe last year without Gerrard there, but Igor was around to help out while the Prem is slightly different. Hamaan does a job but is not that mobile while Alonso passes links play well but is also not that mobile (in terms of upping the tempo and providing needed cover against speedy attacks). I dread to think if both were out at the sametime at the moment.

Recipe for disaster= an absent Sissoko and a present Morientes.
-
Wasn't it Fowler some years ago that told the ref that Seaman didn't touch him and saved him from being sent off and awarding a penalty? After the reaction from their players I hope they get a hiding from Juve. Did anyone see the way Sol looked at Alonso when he was entering the tunnel and decided to turn his back to him. Very Strange offering that.

OK everyone, We have heard both sides of the argument now so lets look at some of the strikers that played under RAFA at Valencia. Miguel Mista was favoured when he RAFA was at Valencia and had one good season, he linked well with the midfield andvgot himself into good scoring positions at times. John Carew was in and out of the Team and used when needed but not relied on. Ricardo Olivera always scored goals but found himself in the stands at times. (I think even after scoring a hat trick) Rafa always favours a hard working striker who links well with the team and implements his orders and tactics. If they score even better for the team and RAFA. Its not a criticism of RAFA its just a Fact and the way he wants things done regardless of the ability of the personality involved. The Premiership is too difficult for Morientes to show his goal scoring ability while Cisse has the potential but RAFA wants a player who will consistently listen, implement the Team's tactics, work for the team ethic and display discipline. Cisse would shine at a Newcastle or Tottenham, but at LFC things don't quite work like that I'm afarid. The Question is do the fans fans prefer or appriciate a striker who works hard in Midfield but does not way in with a lot of goals or a striker who scores a lot but will have the manager pulling his hair out (what is left of it) because tactics are not his thing being supplied with accurate through balls and crosses are? We know who RAFA currently prefers but can you have that in a tough league like the PREM?

Carra is out also Cole is out.

Chelsea payed back. Happy now PEPE or is this just the first half?

I was going to add a similar post. I think Cisse at the moment is like Henry at Juve, tried to use his pace all the time when he came from France but learnt his lesson in England (may be to do with a French Coach). So what you see from Henry and Zlatan now is that there is a time when to use it or don't make it that obvious that it is the only way to progress up the park or beat a player. Rather Henry and Zlatan stroll with the ball up the pitch allowing other team mates to keep up and bring them in to play. The only time you see the likes of Henry use his pace is when what Cisse done to Everton and the trouble is that teams will most of the time put 10 men behind the ball against us. I wish there is someway that this message could get to Cisse.

Other than right midfield, I still think we are light in the killer ball position behind the striker(s). some one like Pablo aimar who can also play wide or Riquelme would be perfect. If we could get one of them, then one of Pennant or SWP, and one of Defoe or Trezeguet(the best finisher in the world). We can but dream.

Just remembered that Goal of the Month did not include Xabi's first goal but a lot of people are running their gums about David Villa's goal from just inside the same half, with the Keeper some way of his line, and he had time to pick his spot. Yet if I remember correctly Xabi had to hit his instantly on the bounce while being tackled and the keeper was near the goal line. But Eurosport and others are calling David Villa's the goal of the decade. I'm not picking on David Villa as I had hoped Rafa would have signed him along with Pablo Aimar to give us that goal threat and creativity. I'm still shocked that Xabi's goal was not included. Is it me or do you all share this opinion?
