From the Athletic web site: Liverpool have confirmed on their website that both Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez will be on the trip to Asia despite both being linked with other clubs. Nunez has so far been the most productive player in the Liverpool squad with four goals in just two games. Diaz has so far not been involved. Federico Chiesa is not included in the travelling squad, which is somewhat surprising as both Nunez and Diaz are included. James Pearce in The Athletic explains the situation and claims Chiesa is not due to a "fitness issue". It may still seem highly unlikely though as Chiesa played the game against Stoke at the latest today and scored the fifth and final goal in the 5-0 win. Chiesa has been linked with a move away all summer, with Napoli a possible option if they fail to secure their priority transfer target Dan Ndoye from Bologna. Ndoye is also of interest to Nottingham Forest, so a sale of Chiesa could be a possibility, but time will tell. There has also been much speculation surrounding the young midfield duo of Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton, who both helped England win the U21 European Championship this summer. Elliott and Morton are both likely to be looking at the possibility of changing clubs as they struggled to get playing time under Arne Slot last year. Despite not having played against either Preston North End or Stoke City earlier today, Alisson Becker and Alexis Mac Allister are also included. Which was expected. It will still be interesting to see who may leave the squad on the trip, with Luis Diaz in particular one to keep an eye on as Bayern Munich are set to make a new and improved bid for the Colombian. Hugo Ekitike, on the other hand, could join the squad, should his potential move to Liverpool happen soon. As has been reported earlier today. This is the team that will travel: Goalkeepers: Alisson, Mamardashvili, Woodman, Pecsi and Misciur. Defenders: Gomez, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Kerkez, Tsimikas, Stephenson, Frimpong and Bradley. Midfielders: Endo, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Jones, Elliott, Gravenberch, Wirtz, Morton and Nyoni. Forwarders: Diaz, Nunez, Salah, Gakpo, Doak and Ngumoha. Stefan Bajcetic is not included in the squad either. He recently had surgery and is working on rehabilitation. This means that there are several youngsters who will not get the chance to be. Amara Nallo, Owen Beck, Trent Kone-Doherty, Kaide Gordon and Lewis Koumas are some of those who you might think would have been included.

I think Wirtz will be rubbish and felt the same about Darwin. When it comes to football, it's sometimes better to be wrong.

Me too. I wouldn't be surprised if we change our formation from a three-man attack to 4 in midfield with Ekitike and Mo up front for our more difficult games, the two new full backs providing width in attack. It's tough on Cody and Diaz but Arne seems to hold Dom in high regard when selecting his strongest team.

This from Anfield Watch: This isn't an entirely new role for the Hungarian. He's played as a right-back for RB Leipzig in the past. The Reds' £60m acquisition from the German side (BBC) once played there against Teutonia in the DFB Pokal. During that game, Szoboszlai played one of his best matches for Leipzig. He registered two assists the match, created seven chances and broke a DFB Pokal record as per Opta. According to Opta, he was the first DFB Pokal player to achieve the following statistics in a single match: 100+ ball actions (132) 80%+ duel success rate (83%) 7+ key passes (7) So impressive was his performance that his teammate Benjamin Henrichs commented 'Dani Alves' under his Instagram post from the match. That brilliant performance is a taster of what he could do if he were to play in that position. Szoboszlai's best ability is his quality when it comes to making progressive balls from deep - this is something we haven't seen of him too much at Liverpool but it's an area of his game he excelled in at Salzburg and Leipzig and continues to do for the Hungarian national team. It's probably not something we will see often. However, in some games where Slot knows his team are going to control possession, Szoboszlai could be useful in the role, inverting into the middle or staying on the flanks to play that Alexander-Arnold role, which only the Hungarian is capable of playing in this Liverpool team at the moment.

Which Kane are you referring to? It's a serious question, please don't take the p*ss by saying Harry. Thanks.

David Beckham holds the Premiership record for goals scored from direct free kicks with 18. Apparently his track record at MU was one goal in every 35 attempts. As you say, not that productive.

I suspect Virgil would agree with you. Robbos last international goal was a spectacular injury time header to win the match. Apparently when the Liverpool squad met after the international break Virgil said to Robbo, “Must have closed ya eyes when you scored that.”

Height may not have been a primary focus, but under Klopp it was a desirable factor when signing a centre half. I recall him saying how important height was for a Premiership centre back when we signed Matip, due to the large number of crosses that are a feature of the English game. Seems like the height requirement is not going to be so significant under Slot.

I've got one as well. Weird it is, why would i want to warn myself ? May 31, 2005 5 replies That's an interesting interesting idea. I just clicked on your posting history, went to the oldest page and copied the above masterpiece in bold. I've no idea what you were referring to. Please explain WTF you were talking about, then select another victim and let's watch them squirm. As parlour games go it will pass the time until the next transfer.

It must be a tremendous incentive to Klopps squad, win both the Prem and the CL and we will replace you with expensive alternatives on higher wages.

Yes but no. Isak is an overpriced Darwin Nunez who hasn't scored from open play since the Carabou Cup final. As the Prems leading goal scorers we don't need him and should stick with what we've got.

We could recognise Konate is a talent well worth the reported £250K per week he is asking for and pay him the money on a new five year contract. Konates wages would amount to £65M over 5 years. We were quite prepared to pay Bournemouth a £50M transfer fee for their young centre half. Add his probable wages over 5 years and Huijsen would have cost far more than £65M. BTW Happy birthday Jurgen Klopp.

“Definitely”, are you sure? As Arsenal are most unlikely to sell us Saka I can't think of another premiership wide-man, apart from Mo, who is definitely better than Diaz. Given Lucios work rate, versatility and ball skills there are few on the continent who could match him, let alone offer an improvement. Those that are or even come close, eg Vinicius or the PSG lads, are simply not available. What transfer targets are there that we could buy who would make a definite improvement?

According to this he's signed.

With Haarland and Mamoush, City don't really need him. Glad he went there instead of Arsenal, Chelsea or backup to Isak.
