  1. If you say so, I wouldn't know. Lets wait and see.
  2. https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/chelsea-bitter-war-liverpool-rio-ngumoha-high-compensation-fee/bltefb3ed95e6aa0ede#cs2ef535eab2a8f311 The above is from the Telegraph. I've seen similar comments but with links from Facebook, all saying Rio will only sign for one year on his 17th birthday. It's difficult to track Facebook links, but one was from the Guardian reiterating one year only.
  3. Rio can sign his new contract from today. Rather than argue about it's length lets wait to see which is correct, your opinion for three years or the Telegraphs contacts claiming one. You can't both be correct.
  4. Rio doesn't have an agent. His parents are guiding his career and were very influential in his decision to leave Chelsea. They felt Chelsea were developing Rio with a view to signing and selling the lad without giving him a career path at the club, as they have done with numerous academy youngsters. If you google his departure from Chelsea you will find numerous links explaining his exit. Guardian, Telegraph etc.
  5. This is an extract from the link I referenced on the previous page regarding our spat with Chelsea. At 17 the maximum period he can sign a contract is 3 years. Your comment, "there’s almost no way the one he signs this year will be for one year, as it’ll allow him to move next summer for minimal compensation", is nonsensical from the players perspective. If Rio doesn't progress as expected over the next 12 months at Liverpool then he can sign for a club that he feels is more likely to fulfil his ambitions. After his heroics at St James' Park, Liverpool are set to offer Ngumoha his first professional contract, which will be valid for one year, once the forward turns 17 this Friday. However, the Reds will enter a legal war with Premier League rivals Chelsea over a sizeable compensation fee for the youngster, according to The Telegraph.
  6. In Rios case it will only be for one year, at his parents insistence.
  7. Yes, but only for one year.
  8. It's astonishing. Two full backs, two centre halves, two centre forwards and a midfielder – seven new players. If we won the CL alongside the Prem, Arne would have bought four more.
  9. I walked past Old Trafford this morning and saw a season ticket nailed to the gates. I thought, I'm having that. You never know when you may need a nail.
  10. A legal spat is brewing with Chelsea over the amount of compensation we should pay them for encouraging Rio to join us. Rio and his family felt he would get first team action with us far sooner than at Chelsea. Chelsea were furious when he joined Liverpool and are demanding maximum compensation for his decision. Bad blood at board room level it seems. https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/chelsea-bitter-war-liverpool-rio-ngumoha-high-compensation-fee/bltefb3ed95e6aa0ede#cs2ef535eab2a8f311
  11. As it's “put-the-boot-into-Sky” time, can they please employ commentators who know the difference between commentary and comment. Isak was the most mentioned player by Sky commentators during last nights match. I couldn't care less what you think of Isak, his situation, how many chances he would have converted, his star sign or favourite colour. Stop babbling and confine yourselves to the match. Furthermore, what's happened to Peter Crouch - he's yet to appear this season? Crouchy has a sense of humour and a glamourous wife. What other qualities are needed for appearing on the telly?
  12. "Its uncharacteristic how slow Liverpool have been.............Oh my God, I cant believe it.....I can't believe it."
  13. Who needs the telly when you can log on here and read such insights as: "The team is always the team." Profundity at it's most profound.
  14. John Stones was poor against Spurs on Saturday, his loss of pace was very noticeable. City could well be interested in Guehi.
  15. It seems Odegaard is also out for a while with a shoulder injury. Shame.
  16. We were knackered at Wembley while the stormy weather at St James slowed us down and suited their Neanderthal giants in midfield. Even then Newcastle needed a goalkeeping blunder to salvage a point. We are far too skilful a team for them to outplay.
  17. If Mac is out then Dom must play in midfield. Jones at fullback. Without Isak they haven't got much in attack, we'll beat them comfortably.
  18. Palace 1 - Forest 1, a fair result. Guehi was sound and unspectacular while Wharton had a quiet game, nothing like as prominent as in the games against us and Chelsea. With the match tied, he was subbed after 80 minutes. Will Hughes was probably Palaces best player.
  19. Seems like some of our ex players had good games this weekend:
  20. Max Dowman looks a wonderful winger but will never make a striker. Two shots at goal, one cleared the cross-bar drop goal style and the other was a wild slash that nearly knocked the corner flag over. Hope Dowmans debut encourages Arne to give Rio a run out soon. I'm sure he's the better player cause he's one of ours.
  21. The sports page of the Guardian is little more than a Man U podcast, the comparison to Veron wishful thinking. Wirzt displayed more imagination in his unexceptional home debut than Veron managed in his entire Premiership career.
  22. 1-0 to W Ham. Wonderful shot by Paqueta.
  23. Empire of the Kop is claiming that RB Leipzig are in the process of formalising an offer for Elliott - with their initial bid believed to be in the region of £25.9m. Whether that’s enough for Liverpool to do a deal remains to be seen - with the report suggesting the club would like an overall total closer to £34.5m before agreeing to a sale. “RB Leipzig are now preparing to submit an offer in the region of €30m (£25.9m) for Elliott, who Liverpool value at €40m (£34.5m), with that disparity potentially being bridged through structured payments and add-ons,” the report reads. “The Bundesliga side have reached an advanced stage in negotiations over personal terms with the 22-year-old, and a verbal agreement is already in place, with the discussion now centred about a transfer fee. “The player is understood to be keen on the move, which’d offer him a greater chance of regular game-time, and his agents are working on a four-year deal which’d earn him an annual salary of between €3m and €4m (£2.6m-£3.4m), a notable increase on his current wage of just over £2m per year.” Elliott joined Liverpool back in 2019 from Fulham - winning two Premier League titles under Jurgen Klopp and Arne Slot.
  24. RB Leipzig have apparently agreed personal terms with Harvey. They see him as a replacement for Xavi Simmons, according to a post on X by someone called Florian Plettenberg. Transfer subject to a ,"suitable offer". We are asking for £40M - which was unsuitable to Spurs, West Ham, Palace and Brighton. In other news, Tsimikas could be off to Marseille.
  25. I'm referring to this part of the article; We're certain they'd sign him for around £20m if Palace were open to it - they're negotiating for a reason, after all, and they do want the player. But £35m? It doesn't look like Liverpool are willing to pay that much for someone they fancy getting in a year's time. The Leoni transfer essentially swung the power back in Liverpool's favour over Guehi. They're no longer a side eager to bring in a centre-back as they were a week ago. Instead, Palace are the ones eager to get a return for their captain and Liverpool are the only ones capable of giving them that. This will come down to the wire, with Palace needing to decide whether 'something' is better than nothing.
