  1. That's an interesting opinion RH. Warnock on R5 was full of praise for Robbo's crossing and blamed the strikers for not aggressively attacking them. That said, Robbo had his critics on this thread during the match. I've only seen a 3 minute highlight of the game, couldn't stomach any more. As someone who wanted Darwin to start, I'll shut my gob and say no more.
  2. Takes a good penalty, that's what's needed now.
  3. Dom complimented for his work rate on R5.
  4. Second booking and he's off I assume is the reason.
  5. I get the impression, if it comes to it, we will win in extra time.
  6. Slot is good at the half time adjustments. Every confidence he can sort it.
  7. That's a grim read. Not the feeling I get listening to R5. Sounds quite even.
  8. I prefer Darwin up front and Diaz wide, Gakpo on the bench after his lay-off. The PSG defence looked uncomfortable facing Darwins cameo in Paris, I'm sure he'll thrive on the anticipated atmosphere. We can always sub him if he lets us down.
  9. Darwin for me, the PSG centre half didn't seem comfortable facing him. Jotta seems to lack his usual acceleration and Lucio is far more effective out wide.
  10. Soft penalty for push on Darwin, per R5.
  11. Lets hope so. A goal or two would do wonders for his confidence and give us a boost at this stage of the season.
  12. A Liverpool fan on the CL page of Sad Cage claims our man in Valencia is not having a good season. Anyone know any details?
  13. Nah. Start with Darwin and boost his confidence, it's what he deserves after his PSG contribution. Put the knee into their keeper, won a header for the only time in the match against their centre half and played a nice pass to create the goal. It's worth trying to get him on song at the business end of the season. We could do with him at his best.
  14. There's no need to apply Pythagoras here Pal. If they score 2 or more at Anfield and we don't score any, we would lose the tie by 2 or more to 1. Newtons Pricipia Mathematica confirms this.
  15. With the score 0 - 0 the Lost Prophets announced themselves.
  16. Mac has put in a shift, won his fair share of tackles. Slot has been very good with his half time tactics. Now is a big test of that. I'm sure he'll sort it.
  17. Or as the TNT crew put it, "the Brugge right back is playing well." I can't imagine Villa offering Rashford a contract, which is a shame for MU.
  18. Facebook full of this rumour. The source is a Blackburn coach said to have his finger on the pulse of UK transfers. He claims Huijsen and Baleba, the 21 y/o Brighton midfielder, are our prime targets this summer. I know it's FB and not a creditable source but these stories are regularly posted.
  19. Jedi Knights through, Imperial Stormtroopers out.
  20. Ooops, live and learn.
  21. The MU sub, Obi. You're welcome to join me referring to him as, "Over Rated Manc t***," , or if you prefer, Ormt.
  22. Update report from Spain: Stefan Bajcetic was loaned to Red Bull Salzburg for the 2024/25 campaign, but he was recalled in January and instead sent to Las Palmas in Spain for the second half of the season. So far, the 20-year-old has played four times for the La Liga side and scored one goal, but it was his most recent appearance against Barcelona that has caught the attention. While Barcelona brushed past Las Palmas with relative ease, beating them 2-0 via goals from Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres, Bajcetic still managed to stand out for a solid performance. The side have been struggling following the youngster's arrival and he's lost every league match he's had with them so far, but he's started strongly individually. That was the case against Barcelona too, as he turned out a solid performance in the middle of the park. He registered 41 touches of the ball throughout the game, playing two passes into the final third and creating a big chance for his side. He also put in a shift defensively, recording three interceptions and five recoveries across the 86 minutes he played. Stefan Bajcetic vs Barcelona: Accurate passes (13/18) Chances created (1) Touches (41) Passes into final third (2) Interceptions (3) Recoveries (5)
  23. I saw a You Tube interview with Warnock in which he was very bitter towards Raffa regarding the 2005 Champions League Final squad. Warnock's name was included in the initial squad of 18 pinned to the dressing room wall. All 18 players would receive a bonus of £100K if they lost the final, £200K if they won. Warnock was thrilled, told his family to book flights to Istanbul and arranged to get them tickets. The next day he was told he was not in the squad and was replaced by Josemi, the Spanish full back who had recently recovered from a season long injury. Josemi had not played a game all season. Warnock claimed the switch was made after Josemi spoke to Raffa and resented Raffa telling the coach to inform Warnock of the change. He described Raffa as a coward and mocked Josemi for having his photo taken holding the cup aloft following a season of absence. He quoted Jamie Carragher saying players who hardly kicked a ball for the club that year were in most of the celebration photos. Warnock said he was on low wages at the time and the win bonus, after tax, would have been a life changing sum for him who, as a lad, stood on the Kop supporting the team. Warnocks account was littered with foul language and, even though he did not criticise the club, you could not mistake his resentment. He seemed bitter in the interview which maybe caused his discontent to fester over the years.
  24. Grav had his first poor game of the season at St James which most commentators put down to the dreadful weather. The game wasn't on Sky so I listened to R5 where the match summariser said Grav was bullied out of the game by Guimaraes. The slur wasn't repeated in the MSM but I'll be interested to see how Grav does against Guimaraes tonight. That sort of insult needs addressing.
