Not for me Hass. About a decade ago someone who was so famous at the time I've forgotten his name, claimed that buying a Real Madrid cast off was never a good idea. He claimed any ex Madrid player would view his next club as a climb down who were fortunate he chose them. This arrogance frequently displayed itself in poor application, motivation and commitment. With that in mind, we should steer clear of Camavinga and find someone else. -
Nah, he's a joy to watch. My MOTM.

The Deloitte Football Money League was compiled by Tim Bridge, Kunal Sajdeh, Dhruv Garg, Matt Cunningham, Jennifer Haskel, Zoe Batchelor, and Lizzie Tantam from the Deloitte Sports Business Group. As always, we would like to thank Henry Wong and others inside and outside of Deloitte’s international network who have made this publication possible. We particularly thank those clubs which have taken the time to help us with the provision of information and associated explanations, and we hope that you enjoy this edition of the publication. It's not uncommon for companies to release financial data to interested parties before audited accounts are published. The UK Dept of Trade, Business Statistics Office and various trade bodies, eg Institute of Directors, all seek info on a quarterly/monthly basis as a matter of routine. It would seem from the above paragraph of the Deloitte Football Money League report, Liverpool have freely informed Deloittes of their latest sales and payroll costs ahead of the release of their latest accounts.

The Deloitte Money League report for 23/24 contains the following about us; Liverpool's wage bill was up to £382m in line with revenue over £600m for the first time despite no CL in the season. Wages maintaining a 63% ratio. Other clubs were as follows; Arsenal's wage bill was up massively (39%) to £323m (2023: £235m) in line with revenue over £600m for the first time. Despite wages (still only 53% of revenue) a very impressive set of numbers confirming loads of PSR capacity. Revenue materially higher than Swiss Ramble's forecast but wages also higher. Spurs's wage bill was down to just 42% of revenue at £220m despite higher commercial revenue than either Chelsea or Arsenal. Villa's wage bill was, as expected, an astonishing 96% of revenue (£252m) struggling to combine CL qualification bonuses with non-CL revenue (of £265m with just £37m of commercial revenue). Newcastle's wage bill was £215m on revenue of £316m. Commercial revenue still restrained at £76.5m. Only around £25m of CL UEFA broadcast due to early exit. As you said our revenue did increase, but no mention of the pre tax profit/loss was included in the above Twitter post.

Cracking article and the prize money is an eye-opener, even if the first section is in Euros and the second in Sterling. The rewards for us are as follows, assuming we win our final group stage match and the article intended the same currency; £ or E Cumulative GROUP STAGE Participation fee 18.62 Win bonus (8 x 2.1) 16.80 First place finish 9.90 Reaching last 16 9.30 Guaranteed Income 54.62 54.62 KNOCK OUT STAGES Reaching quarter final 10.60 65.22 Reaching semi final 12.70 77.92 Runner up 15.60 93.52 Winner 21.10 99.02 I know our player contracts include an achievement incentive bonus but even so, winning the trophy plus the £99.02M would do wonders for next seasons transfer kitty.

As Alan Shearer said of Garnachio on MOTD, “It would drive me mad playing centre forward with him on the wing, he never looks up to find a target when crossing the ball.” Shearer was too well mannered to point out Garnachios crossing is hopelessly erratic. His crosses either fail to beat the first man or fly over the penalty area and out of play on the opposite wing. Garnachio is not for me Murph, or good enough for us.

9 hrs 36 mins since Liverpool last conceded a goal in Europe. A new club record beating Raffas achievement in 2005/06. Highlight of R5 commentary so far. In fairness, they have discussed a large bag of sweets and a history of Lile transfers this century. -
Brighton heading for their third win in succession at Old Trafford, MU looking at their sixth home defeat of the season. I love happy stats.

That's Facebook for you Swipe, never let the facts get in the way of a good story. The site is wasted on the internet, should have been a newspaper.

Dean Huijsen, Bournemouth centre half, getting rave reviews for the way he marked Isak out of the game yesterday. Only 19 and played youth games for both Holland and Spain and at club level for Juventus and Roma. He was signed by Bournemouth by our Richard Hughes, speaks four European languages, including Dutch, so the speculative links to us are obvious in the event of Virgil leaving. The source is Facebook and therefore fanciful but this is a transfer speculation thread so you never know.

Yep, first time for us this season. It's such a good feeling and amazing what it can do, now we all love Darwin. -
My turn: Why are Villa bringing on Duran, he's worse than useless?

Ooops.

On the plus side, Chiesa was involved in both goals today and looked like a player who knows how to pass the ball in attack. If he stays fit he can have a big impact for the remainder of our season. -

Newcastle are an excellent team, almost as good as Bournemouth. Going to keep an eye out for Kerkez, as we are constantly linked with the left back. Looks OK so far but nothing exceptional.
