  1. All three of our Netherlands players are having outstanding seasons and I think Slot will go Dutch in the transfer market. They all seem to understand his ideas which bring out the best in their games. Dutch football seems highly technical and Slot is demonstrably comfortable coaching players familiar with their national methods. If Mo leaves then Bakayoko, who was terrific against us for PSV, looks like a decent replacement. Whether or not Vigil departs, I suspect we will buy Huijsen. He's a young Dutch speaker with a bright future. As for our out of contract three, I'm hoping for the best but fearing the worst.

  5. That's bit unkind mate. Robbo has played well in recent games, looks back to his old self. He even did well at centre half against PSV, his passing out from the back in that game was on a par with Virgil. Well, almost. Bradley is a ready made replacement if Trent leaves and Robbo has a few seasons as first choice. I can't see us paying top dollar for either full back position in the summer, we have no reason to.
  6. Well done. I heard my stat on the radio, it did seem improbable. Some pundit saying he never scored am opening goal but created over half of our first strikes.
  7. Apparently, the penalty against Bournemouth was the first time this season Mo scored the opening goal in a league game. About time the slacker pulled his weight.

  9. Ruben Peeters, the fitness coach brought in from Feyenoord, deserves a huge amount of credit for our low level of injuries. Apparently the Dutch club had relatively few injuries when he was there but this season almost half of their squad have been sidelined with fitness issues. This season we are ranked 20th in the Prem for distance covered but were always in the top three for this stat under Klopp. For sprinting we are 11th this year, which is apparently much lower than in previous seasons. It seems the less energetic style of Slot and the conditioning of Peeters has reduced our injuries. Long may it continue.
  10. Jaros is a cracking goalie. Looking at how poor the standard of keepers in the Prem are, we could sell him for a decent profit. Did well against Arsenal earlier in the season.

  12. Such as that unambitious pass from the edge of our box to Lucio, before sprinting the length of the pitch to accept the return, then laying it off for Mo to do his thing for the second goal at Bournemouth? Curtis has his faults but unambitious passing isn't one of them, especially when closely marked by opponents limiting his options.

  14. Any player picking up 10 yellow cards before game week 32 will receive a 2 match suspension. Cards relate to Prem games only, not cup competitions. Our crime count to date is as follows; Mac, Dom, Darwin 6 Grav 5 Konate, Trent, Cody 4 Robbo, Virgil, Lucio 2 Bradley, Curtis 1 Our week 32 and 33 fixtures are West Ham home and Leicester away. Not our hardest games if we fall foul of this rule, or “when” in Macs case. Mo is our only regular not to receive a yellow card, yet another reason to pay him whatever he wants.
  15. Yep. Botmans had a good game and Trippier is getting under their skin. Be amazed if Newcastle lost this now. Arsenal seem limited which puts their last game in perspective, City are really are poor.
  16. Friday was the last day of January, I forgot about February, it's easily done. It's not even a leap year, only 28 days, that's no big deal. Blatant pedantry.
  17. Ok, my mistake. If you can c\o the article the date is embedded at the top of the page as follows; 01/03/2025 - 05:23 PM Sometimes it pays to shoot the messenger. No need to bother, I'll do it for you.
  18. This is a copy of the interview dated 1st March; Mohamed Salah has ended speculation about his future, confirming that this will be his final season as a Liverpool player. In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, the 32-year-old Egyptian forward announced his decision to leave the club at the end of the 2024/25 campaign, closing a historic chapter at Anfield. Salah expressed his ambition to crown his time at Liverpool by securing another Premier League title, a goal that has become his primary motivation for the season: "I want to win this Premier League... as it will be my last year at the club. I want to give this special gift to the club and the city," Salah said. He also reflected on the club’s 2020 title victory, which lacked the celebration it deserved due to the COVID-19 pandemic: "We waited about 30 years for that title, but we couldn’t celebrate it the right way. Hopefully, we can do it this year." This declaration solidifies the hints Salah had dropped earlier. On September 1, after a match against Manchester United, Salah suggested that this would be his last season with the Reds. Today’s confirmation puts an end to the speculation. Despite the looming departure, Salah continues to prove why he’s considered one of the Premier League’s best players. He leads the league in scoring with 17 goals and has provided 13 assists, remaining a crucial asset for Arne Slot’s squad. With his contract set to expire in June 2025, Salah will be free to negotiate with other clubs starting in January 2025, sparking interest from both European powerhouses and Middle Eastern clubs eager to secure his services. Since joining Liverpool in 2017, Salah has cemented his place as an iconic figure for the club. His accomplishments include: Champions League (2019) Premier League (2020) Multiple domestic and international trophies Beyond the accolades, Salah’s impact on Anfield is immeasurable. His contributions have defined Liverpool’s modern era, creating moments that will resonate for generations. Dated first of March, last Saturday.
  19. Seems like this is Mos last season, per the following quote on a Sky Sports interview; "I want to win this Premier League... as it will be my last year at the club. I want to give this special gift to the club and the city," Salah said. https://www.beinsports.com/en-us/soccer/premier-league/articles-video/breaking-news-mohamed-salah-confirms-he-will-leave-liverpool-at-the-end-of-the-season-2025-01-03
  20. Think you can add Robbo to that list. He's had a lot of flack this season but played well against a strong team yesterday, which was good to see.
  21. A lot of posters made similar comments during the match thread. When I watched the match on Game Of The Day I was impressed with Dom, thought overall he passed the ball well and had a good game. Must be me, too easily pleased.
  22. Martin Keown claiming Liverpool have the best midfield in the Prem, emphasising the performance of Dom, was incredible to see on MOTD. The fact that it's undoubtedly true should not detract from the surprise.
  23. R5 said Dom moving to the right to cover Trent. It effective and cleaver tactic, reduces B.Mouth attacking options.
