Think that was Ron Yeats' testimonial. I was at that too (in the Kop). When it filled up there were loads of fights. One Celtic supporter got a flag out and got battered...he even had a suitcase with all his clobber in...which was opened and the contents thrown into the air, which at the time me and my 14 year old mate found highly amusing.

Queued at the cash turnstiles loads of times. First ever time was a EUFA (on the programme) cup game against AEK Athens in 1973 (?). Got the door slammed in my face against Everton that season and always got there really early for the big matches from then on. Shankly's testimonial was another memorable game I got there early for, still got the programme too. The atmosphere had loads of time to develop because once into the Kop there was a real struggle to get back for a pee or whatever so sometimes you were standing around for 2 hours bored. The only bit I don't miss about the Kop as was was the falling over with the big pushes and people standing on you(!).

They signed the wrong cheque. Love Paddy, great player, and a fan of The Reds too.

Just a little reminder of what the Mancs can expect (6/12/01) from the BBC website: Four Liverpool fans have reportedly been stabbed after travelling to Rome for the teams' Champions League game against AS Roma. It is thought all of the fans were stabbed in the leg and none are thought to be seriously injured. Three of those hurt were injured before the match, which ended in a goalless draw, according to Italian news agency Ansa. They were treated by paramedics. Italian police used tear gas after fighting started outside AS Roma's Olympic stadium ahead of the game. The fourth fan was stabbed in a city centre clash after the Group B tie ended and was taken to hospital by ambulance. No fighting was reported after the match. Earlier this year, a number of Liverpool fans were injured in Rome prior to a UEFA cup match.

I hope the Manc fans come home unscathed but their team get the hammer. Everyone will be happy then.

Shout "put him in row Z" when one of our pliers tackles one of theirs. Talk freely on your mobile phone, loudly, throughout the game about anything other than the game...work is an excellent subject.

Sing "Stand up if you hate Man U" every few minutes...always well received
