Exactly, everyone keeps forgetting that fella. In theory him and Leoni are intended to be our long term pair, until Madrid sign them from us for free.

The media have started to question Slot now. A lot of them keep referencing how Liverpool fans don't turn on a manager easily, but they recognise that many now have and are taking note and asking why. None of them are smart enough to actually state the obvious about the football itself, lack of running or tackling, man management etc... but they see we've turned and agree he's got a struggle on to turn it round. The possibility of him being sacked it getting noisy now.

Anyone watched the Gerrard video on Stick to Football with Carra, Neville etc? It's a great show btw. Really interesting watch with Gerrard, everyone should see it. I've never wanted Gerrard back near the team, certainly not yet anyway. But this talk of Alonso coming back and maybe even Gerrard as his assistant got me thinking that situation would actually be the wrong way round. Gerrard is an old fashioned manager that surrounds himself with coaches. Alonso is a coach. It wouldn't work them two together as Alonso would want to be the main man and Gerrard isn't a coach. Still don't know if Alonso is what we need, maybe, but something has got to happen before start of next season.

Probably won't happen, but if it did and to not want it is pure weird.

What kind of CM though? This is my point. I know he will play there somewhere, but where? Not a 6, not a 10. Is he really a good 8? Could be a very useful squad player for us. I'd take him over Jones.

Whats his position? Genuine question. Ive watched him play and yes he's decent and one of the only players at Spurs that can hold his head high, but what is his actual best position? I think he'll be one of those, nobody knows where to play him.

It's so difficult to judge any of them this season isn't it? If you really believe, as many do, that Slot and the coaches are the issue, then you'd have to also argue that Macca is fine with a different coach. He's won a world cup and PL after all. If none of them are actually match fit, for either missing pre season or the coaching, then again, hard to judge or criticise the players isn't it? Don't get me wrong, we need additions, but we've still got some really impressive players in our squad. A new coach next year and some smart signings and we could easily be flying again.

So Isak is back training with the first team for one or two days before the City game? That's not enough to be on the bench, surely. Chiesa also for according to Slot. Our definition of fit seems to be a very low bar this year.

4-2-2-2 has already been mentioned a lot

He moves the ball forward with great passing better than most. I'd have him, but for me he's not what we're desperate for. Without a proper 6 he would be wasted. I do see him as a future alternative to Macca though.

Does anyone on here actually trust the current medical and coaches group at the club to actually get Isak fit? I reckon he'll be brought back to soon and breathing through his a***.

Did he ever really reach any heights, or just surrounded by talent? He's one of those modern young players for which there are many. Wants to be 10 but isn't really anything. See Elliot and Jones as two examples of nobody really knows what they are and where they should play. Not quick, not physical, hold the ball too long etc.. They'd all be amazing 10s in the championship perhaps.

I was a PSR management transfer. Newcastle didn't actually want to lose him and he didn’t want to go either. He's got Utd written all over him. Think he'll stay away from City, won't want to be another Kalvin Phillips.

Klopp spending a lot of time around the club this week. Must be awkward for some. Is this why Slot's gone to Ibiza or wherever he is?
