Mary Poppins

Selling Jones and Bajcetic with no replacements and still having Elliot and Chiesa here is mad.

He initiated the contact to win the pen/free kick, same as a dive for me. And yeah, soz.

That move sums up Saka for me. He'd rather dive and get a pen than just get the ball and shoot. That whole team is wired to win free kicks and pens over and above playing football. Hate them so much.

Who?

We look like Arsenal under the latter years of Wenger when he thought football should be non contact.

Kerkez and Frimpong are both thick as s***.

That is not a pen. Never has been.

I think until we sign new players Iraola needs to say f*** it and play 3 at the back with Kerkez and Frimpong wingbacks. It's the only way this squad works.

Yep, and many think Tonali better than Bruno G.

He's just not mobile enough. Could be a good fit for German or Italian league maybe, or championship.

What I mean is, sign Barcola, keep Gakpo, sign more players

Good, we need to keep him and level up the squad.

Yeah, but after that he's 30 ffs.

John Barnes disagrees

What's the world come to when the idea of a right footed player playing on the right is alien.

2hrs for 8 holes? Can play 18 at mine in less than 3 hrs.

I'm looking forward to how Klopp uses him.

I wonder if we need to go 3 at the back with 2 x 10s and Frimpong and Kirkez as wing backs. Only way I see this team functioning, but I hate 3 at the back.

We won the league with him as a 10. We enjoyed his fight and defending from the front.

Have you ever felt so disconnected to a Liverpool team? Who are we supposed to get behind, Dom?

He did indeed, and I did think of that. I remember at the time we had the smallest team ever seen finishing the game, with Newcastle absolutely bullying us. I'm not sure if it was smart thinking or if he'd given up. Either way, it was going to work sometimes, but by and large his last 10 minutes when we were often chasing in games were just carnage with no sense of any structure. That's why I liked yesterday, felt more like tweaks, with just a bit more energy and the same structure.

I'm clutching at straws here, but I think yesterday Slot would have taken a centre back off last 5 or 10 yesterday, we'd be unrecognisable up front and we would have lost 3-1. At least Iraola kept the basis and structure of a team. Added some energy with the subs in the right places.

Dom as a 10 worked well with Macca and Grav behind. It's probably the best place to play Dom as well.

The goals we conceded today were same as when Semenyo run through us and scored first game of last season. Just awful defending all round.
