Like when we only signed Chiesa and won the league
-
I really enjoy the absolute bed wetting by the same folks on this thread every transfer window. Very entertaining. If Liverpool think Rio is a superstar in the making on right, I'm all for it. Barca took that game with Yamal, PSG with Doue. If McConnell and Nyoni are proving to the new manager they can hack it so we don't need to sign new midfielders, go for it. We have gaps, no doubt about it, but signing top players is hard. Over paying for 'maybe' signings is easy, and costly. Will Anderson really be a success at City? Not a dead cert is it. YNWA livE rEActiOn!
-
Yeah, me too
-
I mentioned before, we actually have more players that 'can' play wide right than we do wide left. (Rio, Munoz, Dom, Elliot, Chiesa, Frimpong, Wirtz Whether or not they should is another matter. As for Rio, the club seem to have real belief in him.
-
He literally won't be missed.
-
Barcola will be the Salah replacement. As for Nyoni, it ain't that big a leap to be a squad player.
-
Villa will be unrecognisable next season. Martinez likely to go too, and Watkins, along with Rogers, Tielemens, Malen, Diane plus others...
-
Yeah, just had a look through their line ups through the season. Normally Scott plus one depending on fitness. Also looked through all their results..... how the f*** did they finish 6th?!?!? Some absolute shockers... Conceded 54 goals, only 6 teams conceded more. My advice, don't look at their season in full. Had a reasonable finish last 6 games...

Who were the "holding" players at Bournemouth and were they any good? Or were they leaky also? Was Scott one or was he further forward? Not saying we buy them, just more intrigued as to how Iraola played them.
-
Yeah, but no change vs all change..
-
About the league itself this season, I don't see anyone beating Arsenal really, but the next 5 or 6 places are going to be soooo competitive this season. Not saying quality will be high necessarily, just think it will be one of the hardest seasons to get top 4 or 5. Us, City, Utd, Villa, Chelsea, Spurs under new man... can make a case for all of them to get CL. Gonna be a long slog. Need to get a good start with our kind first 5 games.
-
Barcola knows he'll be defending a lot with Arsenal. Iraola will let him ATTACK!!
-
f*** me you're dour
-
Oi, don't start that!
-
So Iraola plays with a 2. We have, Dom, Grav, Macca, Nyoni, Jones, Endo, Bajcetic, McConnell. Have numbers but not quality. I'd sell 4 of those and buy 2 good ones.

Yep. As I mentioned earlier, both City and Arsenal value winning the midfield and are doing everything possible to add to it. (City already grabbed Anderson). I want a Liverpool manager and DofF that understands how important the control of the middle of the pitch is. Hendo, Fab and Gini or Milner Feed the front line, protect the back line.

Don't need to convince me, I've always thought Konate was a just a lump.
-
Saka's first thought is win a foul. His second thought is win a corner. I think he's miles below the top wide players playing in Europe like Olise & Vini, etc.. I even think Diaz is better. Looking back as well, Robben, Hazard... etc, he's not at their levels either. He's just decent, in the same was Gordon, Rashford and Mbeumo are decent. He'll never reach Salah heights, that's for sure. Vini, Kvaratskhelia to name two obvious misses.
-
Jacquet, Ekitike, Barcola, viva La France. Let's get Tchouameni & Camavinga as well. f*** it, let's go and get Olise as well.
-
He's definitely* going to better for us than Konate ever was. He's a proper talent this lad, hope he stays fit. *I've not idea really, but I like being optimistic before the season starts

Match Topic Newcastle United vs Liverpool - Premier League, 23rd August @ 4:30pm

I dreamt about this game last night. We won 3-2 with a 100th minute winner from a kid. Be amazing if that happens. -
....

So annoying seeing how much both Arsenal, and Man City especially, value winning the centre of the pitch, and making sure they are loaded there accordingly. City always make sure they have a good 6. With Rodri going, they are straight onto their next one, having already bought Anderson. Meanwhile Arsenal have 5 top players for the 2 pivot positions and all are happy to play deep if needed.
-
That's a fair comment, as he's so young still, but I think he's gonna do great things this year, albeit not necessarily as a regular starter.
-
Mbaye? Maybe.
