There's quite an excellent piece of journalism about this on Tribal Football. It says negotiations have started at £35m but we are trying to haggle the price down seeing as how his buy out clause is only £24m Surely even Mr Parry wouldn't try and negotiate above his buy out clause?

I thought it was English Heritage that objected to the brick rather than the council , something to do with it not fitting into the Victorian Park. As fyds said this could have been a fault with the original design ie. it looked too much like a modern building made of brick. If the new ground were to look like a Victorian warehouse they can't really complain that it wouldn't fit with a Victorian Park

I think that what people are trying to say is that , other than press speculation that is usually b****x , you cannot possibly know who Rafa's targets are , especially his top targets. For all you know Malouda may be Rafa's 2nd choice and the publicity is merely to persuade his first choice to make a decision.

Than £50 next year , then £65 the year after and so on until we get a new stadium and we're looking at a season ticket costing near enough a grand

Quite a fgew Blackburn fans that I've spoken to say that he is fairly lazy and although he can spark a game with a bit of skill or a shot on goal , he rarely gets too involved. I must say on the few occassions that I have watched Blackburn I've found that to be true. Doesn't strike me as a Rafa signing if he doesn't work hard.

Apparently nhearly 5000 went to people who werer ex-shareholders but I'd wager the majority of them are season ticket holders as well and would have qualified twice. If they were enterd into the ballot there's a good chance that there are people knocking about with 2 tickets who only need one.

With Gilette stating that he's been mightily impressed by Rafa as a 'savvy businessman who knows what he wants and how to get it' I suspect things may already be in the pipeline
