    CL Hoody

Anyone bought this, Looks quite good but never used subside sports before and maybe it looks *too* bright red, dunno. Would be great to know if anyone's bought one?
  2. Mancs and a*** away are the biggest I think. A win next week would be truly sensational. Mind you, 2 points from those two games wouldnt be the end of the world, just to maintain the gap atleast.
  3. Sky showed one of the FA rules which related to the incident after the game and robben didnt infringe any of them. I'm all for taking the piss our of Chelsea and all that but to give him a yellow and send him off for that was complete lunacy. Total farce
  4. Forget Evra, lets hope Fergie has totally lost his marbles and plays Silvestre ahead of Brown next week. Silverstre was truly shocking yesterday. He would've made Titus Bramble look good. Wouldnt shock me if Silvestre has played his last meaningful game for United actually, thats if anyone is daft enough to cough up the cash for him.
  5. Because Kewell doenst take as many risks. Look, I'm a big fan of Kewell and I'm delighted to see that he's on the path to recovery (both physically and in terms of his form) but if there's one thing that still bugs me is his aprehension to take full backs on. He has skill, bags of it but too often runs with the ball, stops and passes back. Don't get me wrong, he's getting better with every game and I'm sure his confidence will help him aswell but Kewell is (at the moment) playing a safer game in terms of posession than Garcia, who on a bad day can be truly wasteful. If we could find a balance between the two we'd be laughing but at the moment they're both key members of the team. no I agree with you. He was excellent in that role I felt although he did spend some time at right midfield too. I remember, for example after the Arsenal game though, thinking that we should keep playing Kewell in that role and instead of spending £14m on Cisse, spend the money on a decent winger which we desperately needed. Likewise, I think Luque who is a similar kind of player to Kewell would be Owen's best partner at Newcastle.

    Ronald O

He gave us a torrid time in the game at Sold Trafford last year, excellent news that he's out IMO
  7. What so unless he signs a professional contract, he's basically a free agent in 2 months time, at which point he'll probably pick up a little pay packet from the club of his choice for deciding to "sit out" for 2 months? Also, daft question maybe but can Southampton sell him now like a normal player even if he's on a junior contract or is something like a tribunal involved here too?
  8. Bit quick that aint it? Denying reports in the early editions of the morning papers?
  9. Chlesea are annoying but more like the snotty cousin that keeps coming round for christmas dinner with the latest gaming console all for himself and you want to give a slap to but know that if you ignore him he'll just piss off in a few years time. Or something like that.
  10. Given Rafa's reluctance to splash out big money say over >£6m unless it's someone he really wants (chased long and hard for Agger, Morientes and Crouch) it's hard to believe we'll get this lad for some of the prices being talked about
  11. 2 things that I remember vividly are Carra being off his feet on the podium and looking like he let the biggest fart ever go when he bends over and the confetti (or whatever that is) bursts out behind him And also Baros nearly breaking Xabi's neck after the equaliser.
  12. Probably not good business in terms of the fee but if Redknapp was given a budget and these 3 were bought in well within that budget then fair play. Just like Chelsea can afford to pay silly fees for the likes of Drogba but if he helps them win the league (or in Pompey's case, keep them up) then it doesn't really matter.
  13. Well, I dont. Not for one european cup anyway. Let Rafa and the boys win a couple more and a few league titles then I'll probably be bothered if we get overlooked. Until then just enjoy the Miracle of Istanbul for what it was.
  14. He's excellent, our best (or atleast most consistent) crosser of the ball too I'd say which is why I'd really like to see him on corners/free kicks. Everytime he cuts back onto his left foot you think he'll have to pass it back or pass it square but he can come out with a beauty of a cross with his left foot.
  15. Since the final he's come up against Lampard three times and Roy Keane once. All four games were pretty tight and I cant remember him turning in a spectacual performance in any of them. Stevie certainly has that midfield general aura about him which Lampard certainly does not.

    Rafa speaks

Hasn't it been like that for a while though? If a club have a valuable asset which someone else wants to purcharse they'll try and squeeze out every penny possible and the buyer can either sit it out tight and keep negotiating like we're (seemingly) doing or pay over the odds.
  17. Damn missed it, any idea if it'll be repeated at all?

In what ways are the potential signings of Agger and Simao affected by Chelsea? They didnt stop us getting Alonso, Garcia, Reina and Morientes for example.
  19. So is Gerrard
  20. His 1st was much better imo. His 2nd was good and took skill, composure and a bit of bottle but it *was* an open goal and trickled in after a couple of bounces, I think quite a few premiership players would've fancied it but it was still a class goal. His 1st was just an unbelievable strike of power and precision. Had this discussion last night. Rooney vs Boro last year came to mind . Also remember Robert a fewyears ago for the geordies scoring two screamers from about 35 yards out. Not sure who it was agains though? Rivaldo hatrick vs Valencia (?). There's been a few but rare as you say
  21. He was consistent though wasn't he, if he'd sent one of them off then fair enough but the punishment dealt out on top of the penalty was enough.

    John Motson

Lawro failed to realise Chelsea beat us 4-1 when he was all smug and cocky about "Guess who the last side to put 3 past Liverpool were?"

    FA Cup draw

Anyone but a Division 1/2 side away from home
  24. At the moment I think he is a little over-rated by our own fans, largely because he runs around a lot and tries to get involved as much as possible. Maybe what Rafa said about Gerrard last year - "we need to control his running" applies to Sissoko aswell. He's still young and he'll improve, that's the key.
  25. I thought even though his use of it was pretty poor (ball to Gerrard before the penalty was unbelievable) he atleast looked for the ball and didn't hide away as he's been accused of in the past.
