  1. Sunderland's main striker is able to have a shot like that inside our penalty area with no Liverpool player within 5 yards and no-one has made any sort of mistake? Nonsense Reina also made a mistake in saving the beach ball not the football
  2. Perhaps the mistake isn't the keepers but the midfielder who didn't get close enough to put pressure on/prevent the shot or the full back who allowed the winger time to put the cross in or the defender who doesnt track the run correctly or (talking about Maradona vs England all those years ago) not stopping a run in its tracks with a foul in midfield Post a goal that you think a team could do nothing about
  3. They really are. You don't have perfect defensive displays where you've conceded goals
  4. Hasn't he gone on record this summer about not wanting/having a plan B. It's plan A or die
  5. Highlighting how just how bad Downing is
  6. If we trying to shift Carroll on then I don't see why we'd try to keep Downing
  7. Rumour was that certain concessions were made as they tried to get it off the ground and one of these was City not wanting United in there
  8. As the more creative player we need to get him slightly further forward so that the errors don't cost us as much. Quietly impressed with both him and Henderson tonight
  9. Yeah I have the same issue with sound - a passing car drowns out all speech even at 100%. Haven't listened to latest to see what it's like
  10. Got a clear red card wrong, probably should have been a penalty to Bayern, allowed far too much grabbing by Arbeloa - suppose that is a good game by Webb
  11. Drogba was a 1 in 5 player at Le Mans at 23. Not saying he's going to turn into Messi but there is clearly a player in there that we are not getting the best out of and who, as he ages, could easily improve into a quality player
  12. Our manager obviously agreed with the "Brilliant scouting staff" and agreed to paying 3 to 4 times the amount he is worth. That is not Andy Carroll's fault. Much better performance today from Andy than Suarez - much better - but the knives are out for Andy in a way that they simply are not (yet) for Luis
  13. That's a bigger joke than Carroll's dive. The funniest thing is you probably believe it  Simple minds go for the easiest target
  14. He turned 23 in January - target men tend to peak later in their careers than short, nippy strikers. Anyone who says he'll never make a top player at this point in his career is guessing and any fool can guess
  15. He didn't set the price. If you think he isn't even £3.5m then I assume you are completely against Kenny getting anymore money. Correct?
  16. It was a serious question though. When he was running after the ball as Krul came out where was everyone else? Everyone keeps saying how slow he is so it's not like he outpaced them
  17. At least we picked up and created a load of chances after he went off. What's that? We didn't? Carroll's dive was awful but it came from a chance he completely made himself. Haven't watched a replay but where was everyone else? Where was Bellamy, Suarez, Gerrard, or someone coming from deep to join the attack? Think the Carroll abuse, like all season, has been massively over the top. He's not a £35m player but that is Kenny's fault not Andy's

Arsenal at 1-1 when there was a massive deflection readily springs to mind from recent games. I thought that was an amazing save

    Wigan

Carroll was the only one busting a gut to do something to stop the goal
  20. Knew he wasn't getting it back?
  21. Why? We didn't get a second when we did go 1 up
  22. You're right, if we'd went 1-0 up we'd have won the game. Hang on...
  23. Perhaps for now we should be happy to see him play at the level of a £10m player so that his confidence doesn't take a beating, he gets fitter through game time, and by trying to get more players in and around him we can maybe see the levels of performance rise to £15m-20m. He's not a £35m player and if people want to harp on about that then it's Kenny that they should be looking to but he's also nowhere near as bad as some would have you believe. He's a young player who'll get better as he plays more and gets more support
  24. I want to know - did we shoot from those free-kicks or did we cross? Same bloody difference I suppose The whole tapping the ball sideways thing for Gerrard to hit is mental as well. He's such a good player, does he really need to give the opposition such a good chance to get out and block his shots?
  25. You seem to blaming our strikeforce for the lack of goals and people keep talking about getting a real goalpoacher in there but the point is that considering the type and quantity of chances we create does it really matter? The issue isn't up front it's in midfield and around the number and quality of chances that we created. We dominate passages of play but too often don't hurt teams at all or happily knock the ball about in front of them - there was a perfect example of this tonight in the first half but yet again I see people talking about what a great game someone like Adam had. I honestly didn't see it Wasteful in front of goal implies we create chance after chance - we don't and haven't now for quite a few games. We did at the end of last season and scored a shed load of goals with pretty much the same strikers but with a midfield that was getting forward better I assume belter means you thought mine was a belter of a post - thank you very much sir
