Agree with this. A goal and a few more games will do him the world of good.

That's the biggest thing that's impressed me about Alonso this year. With such a delicate touch on the ball it could be assumed that he was a shrinking violet - certainly not! Alonso and Gerrard are unmatched as a pair in European club football at the moment.

I like him and hope he stays. He's a livewire and has skill and awareness. The latter will imporve. You can't teach the former. Not first XI but a valuable player. And instrumental in no.5.

Thought that meself at times. Out passing and movement was excellent at times and a real joy to watch. And not once did I feel nerves about Newcastle getting back into the game. The only caveat is that they were f*cking awful. Still, I can see this type of performance becoming the norm for us and it fills me with glee.
