Harsh. I hope we never have to play him on the left again, but in central midfield I think he can do a job for us. He's an experienced squad player. He'd be a good Carling Cup captain. I think lashing him out of it cos of Saturday morning is unfair - there were plenty that didn't perform on the day.

We were pretty poor but it's not the end of the world. It was a difficult game - an early kick-off (f*cking hate them) against a newly promoted side. The injuries really limited our options - both Crouch and Pennant would definitely been brought on otherwise. We were worth a point, and I remain confident.

I've said for some time that we could do with a couple of c*nts in the team, but I didn't mean for Rafa to take me so literally.

I get a great laugh out of him on TV3. The size of him. I think they have Lawro on a couple of cushions to even things out. My favourite TV3 moment of his (can't remember the match) was when Bonner asked him something about the advantage of having an away goal. Big Tosh just tapped his temple with his finger and went "tricks, Packie, tricks".

Money is what buys players. You can only sell if people want to buy. If we raised £5m by selling Diao and Dudek, we might never have been in this position. Both players are still here, so waiting to seal CL qualification before splashing out £10m is not really that much of a shock.

Gonzalez offered us exactly what Zenden didn't on the left. With all manner of crosses coming in from the right and one up front, it's essential that the left sided attacker makes those types of runs into the box. Pleased with the new lads.

Jaysus, we don't like making it easy for ourselves, do we? We made very hard work of that, but it's the first game back, so it's understandable to an extent. From my armchair: I thought Finnan did well playing a more advanced game. Momo was the pick of the bunch - immense at times and adding some skill to his duracel bunny act. Pennant was impressive and grew into the game - he's gonna offer us another dimension down the right, especially if he clicks with the midfielders and strikers. We looked most dangerous with Crouch and Luis on. Bellamy needs to play off someone. Zenden and Riise stank the place out.

Heskey, by a mile. He used have me tearing my hair out watching him. Limping around with his bottom lip quivering and being completely useless in front of goal. David James is up there too for multiple reasons. Kvarme and Leonhardsen both used to do my head in as well, just because they were so fecking sh*te.
