  1. Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline doesn't really rock enough. I reckon it should be the mighty QUO! It's still suitably gay, amirite? I'm sure there's also scope for something along the lines of Shaggy's "Oh Carroll niner" ?v=hYHfh94LfNw
  2. I was in Northrend, questing on my Worgen priest. Had Alt-Tabbed out to check WoWhead, and noticed a comment on Twitter.

Aye, probably. You're right, I shouldn't worry, and should bask in the glory of the King's return. \o/

I'm very happy that Hodgson's gone, but I'm somewhat anxious about Dalglish's return. Mainly because I'd hate to have my memories of his previous spell as player/manager to be tarnished by a return in which things didn't work out. Seeing the legend diminished would be simply horrible.
  5. I'm not sure that was the first time he'd used that line though; I think he was repeating something he'd said years before. At least, I usually see it quoted as "Some people believe football is a matter of life and death. I'm very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that." -- which isn't what he said at the end of that YouTube clip.
  6. Only what other people have already said.
  7. Hehe, nice that the mics are picking up everything.

  9. Shame I don't have ESPN. Mind you, I already pay through the nose for my Sky sub; what's another £9?
  10. Possibly useful when you are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike, but I find a combination of iddqd, idkfa and idspispopd offers more utility. =)
  11. Nah, I'd have been interested in Android if I knew Java better, but I'm more comfortable with C#.
  12. I have "Sent from my Windows Phone" on my emails. What do I win?
  13. In the Should the new owners sack Roy Hodgson with immediate effect ? thread, the result was 483 Yes, to 18 No. I was one of the 18 who voted no, and I stand by what I said in that thread. I'll still give him until Christmas, at least, minority position as it may be. As I said before, the players are the ones who have to perform on the pitch, as well as the manager from the sidelines, and I don't think all the blame for a very poor start can be placed at Hodgson's feet. Yesterday's win felt great.
  14. What a goal! \o/
  15. I'm not sure I see the problem with some of what you emboldened, RHPM. "But I have spoken to a number of the top players and was really heartened by the response and the intelligence of those players. They really understand what Liverpool is about, perhaps more than we do" What's wrong with that, for example? "There is only so much revenue we can derive out of the city of Liverpool,” said Henry. “We don’t have 12 million people in Liverpool and don’t have the wealth of London. If we were Chelsea or Arsenal we would concentrate on London but we can’t concentrate on Liverpool when it comes to growing revenue." That, too seems reasonable to me. At least, I read it in the context of the previous comment that increasing revenues from Asia is seen as the way forward, rather than raising ticket prices at Anfield for example. I don't think it means they're not looking at inproving facilities in Liverpool (i.e. building a new stadium), but it's fair to say that local fans don't have huge amounts to spend on supporting the club, isn't it?
  16. Hat trick! Thank feck for Stevie G.
  17. GOOOOOAAAALLLLLL! Gerrard pulled his socks up. I *knew* he was gonna shoot!
  18. Peno!
  19. I'd pay.

  21. That's a bit harsh, isn't it? I only said I wasn't sure it's all Roy's fault.
  22. Of course, we want Liverpool to be in our rightful place, winning trophies and, dare I say it... the Premiership. I wouldn't be upset to see Hodgson sacked. I mean, I don't have any great affection for him. It all just strikes me as a bit... I don't know. Knee-jerk perhaps. Maybe 8 games is long enough. I'm not a great thinker of things football. But I still feel the word "scapegoat" is applicable here. Who'll be blamed if Hodgson's sacked and the team's still playing like crap? Don't worry though; I'm clearly in a very small minority who think he can have more time (I've seen a similar set of results on RAWK). And anyway, I'm not in a position to persuade the new owners one way or another. Maybe you're right. As I said, I'm no great thinker when it comes to football, or analyst of managerial nouse. =)
  23. I have no expectations; I do have hopes. If we have improved by Christmas, I don't know whether that's the result of the manager or the players, because I don't know whose fault it is that we're playing so badly at the moment. But if we have improved by Christmas, and Woy's still there, it's probably not entirely his fault that we're not doing anything at the moment. I haven't said it is the players' fault. I said they're the people who need to stick the ball in the net. I don't know whose fault it is, which is why I'm not convinced that sacking Woy so soon is the remedy.
  24. I'm one of them, if that helps. Not because I think he's doing a good job, but I've long thought that managers are sacked far too readily. I don't really hold him fully accountable for the fact that we're not winning (or drawing) games. OK, he's the manager, but the people on the pitch are the ones who need to actually stick the ball in the net. Why aren't they playing well? Can't be arsed? Hate Woy? I don't know what goes on in the dressing room or on the training ground, but really, can the manager have that much of a negative impact in so short a time? I'm willing to give him until Christmas at least. According to the post block on the left, I've posted 7 times. Dunno why it says that though; my profile says I've posted 234 times. That's 234 times in 7 years though, so no, not often.
  25. Right... well, he needs a song. Any ideas?
