  2. Don't think there's anything in the rules saying you can't. I was saying this a few weeks back, wonder why players don't even push themselves up on their teammates' backs. Crouchy would be great for lifting, he might get caught on a stiff breeze and blow away though.

  4. His dad played with a South African team in the 80's and Mark was born there
  5. Maybe that stupid celebration he did at Old Trafford was some kind of tribal food dance

  7. I think I started that
  8. I don't think he's even as good as him defensively. When was the last time you saw Finnan skinned by a winger? Happens relatively regularly to Neville. He still struggles with the offside trap from time to time as well.
  9. I honestly don't hate Neville. If anything I pity him, he's kind of pathetic. I'm stunned that a Liverpool fan can think he's a better player than Steve Finnan. He's an average full-back who got lucky that Rob Jones retired and there was a dearth of right-backs around.
  10. Motson You could hear the cogs in his head grinding to a halt as he declared that we'd be playing up to the 100th minute.
  11. He's been doing alright for them, saw him play last week and he did well. Burley obviously rates him, I'd say it was him who wanted him at Hearts.
  12. He came off at half time because of a knock the other night, not sure how serious it is though
  13. Saw onw on TLW the other day that might be simple enough to take off To the tune of "Sing when you're winning" Singin for Finnan We're only singin' for Finnan Singin' For Finnan We're only singin' for Finnan
  14. It didn't hit VDS, although Sky will probably credit the post with the goal.
  15. When I saw the line-ups at the start of the game, with United's 4-5-1 (negative?) that with Momo in the team it's like we've an extra man because he covers so much ground, we can "get away" with playing 4 in midfield and still benefit from the extra forward.
  16. The point is that they were in the same league, against the same players playing the same type of football in the same weather, I'm just trying to point out the disparity in the way the media treat Rooney and Crouch. Rooney is the messiah, a threat whenever he gets the ball while Crouch is a joke who can't score a goal. The reality for both of them is somewhere in between.
  17. Then you remove Rooney's goals from last season and just say who has scored more goals this season...?? Did those goals not count or something? My point is that the media rave about Rooney being the Golden Child and go on as if Crouch is a joke when in reality their ability to have an impact on a game isn't that far apart.
  18. David Pleat?
  19. It looked worse than a dislocation, looked like his leg snapped just above the ankle. Very bad injury, can't stand the lad, but wouldn't wish that on anyone, get well soon.

    BBC

A good game between the two most supported teams in the country and BBC only give 15 seconds of after match coverage so they can go to indoor athletics. Which bright spark thought of that?
  21. Trying to make it a round number of problems then?
  22. Did he ever say that? Given their current habit of buying,or trying to buy, every young talent in the country it's surprising they didn't even consider moving for the best. Hard to believe they paid more up front for SWP than United did for Rooney.
  23. I had to do a doubletake too
  24. Reina 7 - Nothing much to do Finnan - 9 - Brilliant again Carra - 9 - Back to his very best Hyypia - 8 - Solid as ever Riise - 7 - got forward well, never really too troubled by Rooney or Ronaldo Gerrard - 7 - effective in spurts, United seemed to be focussing on keeping the ball away from him though Sissoko - 8 - It's like having 12 players on the pitch at times Hamann - 9 - I didn't think he had a performance like this in him anymore, superb Kewell - 7 - Looked lively again, slightly hesitant in possession though Crouch - 7 - A return to form, held the ball up well and great header for the goal Morientes - 7 - Worked really hard and retained possession very well
  25. Why did Chelsea not go in for Rooney?
